After yesterday’s feast it’s fingers crossed that famine doesn’t follow.

1:50 - can’t really see past Relief Rally in this. Should win if form means anything. One I’ll be watching in is Star of Mystery. Charlie Appleby has a poor hand of three year olds atm, but reckons he’s got a strong hand of two year olds who will start coming good in late summer/autumn. So I’m going to start keeping a careful note of them.

2:25 - Dragon Leader came from way back to finish eye poppingly strongly to win on his debut, then followed up carrying a penalty, running up with the pace and winning despite still looking novicey. Up a couple of classes here and he might not cope, but with Ryan Moore up he just might. I’ll also be interested to see how Je Ne Sais Quoi goes, but won’t be betting unless there’s a major market move, which looks unlikely atm.

3:00 - some old favourites competing in this, but I’ve got a sneaking regard for Northern Express.

3:35 - I’m probably prejudiced, but I think Al Husn’s win in the very messy Nassau at Goodwood has been underrated and that was reflected in the early 13/2 price. She’s tightened up now to 9/2 joint favourite so I’ve added a bit.

4:10 - just a watch to see if Spring Fever is up to Listed level. Didn’t get a clear run last time.

4:45 - another watch. Fahey seems to think a lot of Ajwadi so will have a look.

5:20 - yet another watch. Unequal Love has been winning well, including her debut handicap last time. She’s upped in Class here and want to see how she copes.

I'd rather have Group 1 form onside and a filly bang in form than a Group 2 performer who needs to step up a bit and needs her last two runs excused. Especially when I'm being offered bigger odds - as I was last night for Al Husn.

Well done BJ. I backed Cherry Blossom in the first and think she’s one to take from the race for the future. Before the race, she looked to have a sort of aura about her. I’ve had a little ew for the Guineas on her. Race wasn’t run to suit today imo.

Seriously impressed with Dragon Leader who I backed and had a little ew on Vantheman too.

The Oaks looks a cracker!

Thx all - it didn’t last and none of the “watch” horses will trouble the notebook. Good day again, though. Shame about Al Husn who was put in the right place at the right time, but found nothing. Looked to me as if she didn’t stay the extra distance, but David Egan was less sure and thought the hard Goodwood race had left its mark.
