We already have a thread for the Dante, but can't believe there's no place on here for the rest of a cracking meeting. It's a bright, sunny morning and that should ensure perfect racing ground around one of the fairest tracks in the land.
I'll start the ball rolling with Muthmir who looks a rock solid bet in the DOY sprint. Mightily impressive in the Portland, despite falling out of the stalls and being checked and switched around half of the field, he should have too many guns for these. Connections are making all the right noises, and can't see the general 9/2 holding.

It's along way from the Highwayman in Sherrif Hutton to Bangkok and messages can get distorted so don't blame me if Hoof It doesn't run a big race today. I have been told they fancy him so I will be keeping an eye on the betting.

Off my own back I like the look of Ed Walker's unbeaten colt Lightning Moon who's wins came on soft ground but I doubt if the switch to good ground will stop him running his race.

He had 5 months off before he won his last race at Ascot so he should be fit enough to run up to his mark which would be good enough to see him go close.

Foreign Diplomat looks a worthy favourite after the way he won at Thirsk.

Wouldn't be a York meeting without a Fahey winner so I am siding with Black Magic to turn over the fav in the 4.30pm

Hoof It, Foreign Diplomat and Lightning Moon.. all ew single doubles and a treble

Other than moving it back a day this is a meeting the Clowns haven't messed with too much. They get reasonable crowds all three days. I miss the Glasgow Stakes, which was a tier two Derby Trial and some good horses won. They've also made the Middleton Stakes a 4yo fillies Group race when it used to be the equivalent of the Glasgow Stakes.

Great course and can be very good racing if the Clerk doesn't mess around with the ground as he did at their Royal Ascot meeting (ended up more like Royal Ascot at Blackpool rather than the Knavesmire).
Saw Reference Point and Authorized both strut their stuff there. You wouldn't have backed anything else after seeing them. Saw Hellenic win the fillies race I mentioned.

As a Yorkshireman Haggas always like to have a winner there and I can fancy his in the first. That serious young man David O'Meara is also worth following.

Let's hope the racing is good this week.

Great run from Mattmu. Had a hunch 3yrolds might surpass their elders this yr in sprint division. Says something about Limato who beat him in a common canter last backend giving 9lb.

Gabrial (4.15) should get the strong pace he needs at this trip, and is well worth an e.w. poke at the general 14/1 (4 places).

O'Meara got a 14-1 winner yesterday and I can see him picking up another one today. A serious man and a serious trainer. Runs 6 but 3 in one race!

As unlikely as it seems I'm taking the chance Belle Dor can turn the tables on Bragging
The 6/1 price tag looks likea stonking EW bet to me.

Jack Hobbs will of course win the Dante :)

Moscato looks an outstanding bet in the last to knock Captain America on his ass

Wouldn't get fat on the price, and even the 4/1 seems to be fast disappearing, but Top Tug (2.40) ought to prove a piece too good for these.
Was dropped out for his first try at the trip last backend in a better race than this, and had to be continually checked and switched around most of the field. Near enough last of 24 around 2f down, he ran on well to finish 7th without being given a hard time.
His seasonal debut looked no more than a warm-up for a race SMS has won for the past 2 years, so you'd have to think he's up for it.
