Yesterday was a special day for me. It was a bank holiday in America – President's Day – so Mrs AC and I woke early so we could pray longer in thanks to God for giving us #43, Dubya.
Once we had done this for two hours we hit the road to drive to Monterey County for the day, and to my amazement we stumbled across a winery en route. It was the most significantly religious event during a journey since Saul fell off his horse when on the way to Damascus.
A couple of hours later I staggered out of Blossom Hill, full of the well oaked Chardonnay that has defined my middle years.
I had truly come home.
