According to the Aidan O'Brien website,

Cape Blanco is likely to have his first run of the season in the Dante, while Jan Vermeer could start back in either the French or Irish Guineas.

I hadn't considered Jan Vermeer as a Guineas type at all.

French Derby = Prix du Jockey Club?
They seem to be more confident that Steinbeck will be ready for the Irish 2000, and I doubt they will want the two horses to clash, so the French guineas looks more likely. What chance two guineas winners for Montjeu?

Maybe we could have "The Winding Path to... ", "The Endless Journey to... ", etc.? But sticking all the rolling info under one banner is a good idea, no doubt.

If St Nicholas Abbey, Jan Vermeer, Fencing Master, Beethoven and Viscount Nelson are all going the Guineas route, and Cape Blanco is heading for the Dante, who is going the traditional Derrinstown route?

Maybe Midas Touch, or Mikael Glinka. Both Mikael Glinka and Don Carlos run this week so we might see what they are like. Flying Cross is another possibility.

Perhaps one of their two in the Ballysax or their lighter raced types - outside of the ones you named their other Derrinstown Entries are -

Await The Dawn
Battleoftrafalgar
Black Quartz
Bright Horizon
Don Carlos
Dynasty
Encompassing
Fighting Brave
Lord High Admiral
September Morn

Out of that bunch the likes of Await The Dawn and Don Carlos gave the impression that they would be capable of better than they have shown so far. Surprised Rocket Man was not entered.

Midas Touch is entered. He was first choice over Jan Vermeer in the Criterium, so maybe he is the one !
