The 2025 Grand National

He is absolutely adamant that nothing will change his mind and will stick to the plan no matter what
As far as Constitution Hill goes when asked about the opposition he replied without hesitation the more the merrier
Personally I thought he looked slightly vulnerable at 2m4f last time while Lossiemouth looks far better at the longer trip which makes for a very interesting race.
Lulamba -tbe mans contempt for punters is unreal.

Okay it's time for me to name my 3, oh no 4 for the Grand National (lol).

Hewick
Minella Cocooner
Bravesmansgame
Three Card Brag

My 4th selection was a toss up between two Novices, Three Card Brag and Hyland.

I have also backed

Hyland
I AM Maximus
Grangeclare West
Minella Indo
Royal Pagalille
Conflated
Hitman
Stay Away Fray

Hoping that I will still get a NR or two (lol)

Probably quicker to tell us what you haven't backed.

:ROFLMAO:

Yes, my 'you can't back em all' theory goes out the window for a race like this.

I haven't backed anything yet.

After reading this thread and especially the endearing Alex, the top two on the shortlist are Minella Cocooner and Hyland each way.

I think the ground will be too quick for Monbeg each way claims. At this distance in this grade I reckon he needs proper soft.

Can’t just back a couple imo. Nothing more dispiriting than to get towards the end of the race and not have any horses running for you! Look at Corach Rambler last year. Who’d’ve thought he wouldn’t at least get placed. I’m currently pretty keen on Perceval Legallois but concerned that he’s had two falls and a UR in his career.

That's why I have backed Grangeclare West.
Never fell or unseated and so called experts reckon it is badly handicapped carrying 11-8
yet it has never shouldered less than 11-10 in any race that it has contested!!!

I usually have about 5 or 6 in the race as there are always hard luck stories. So far all I have is Kandoo Kid at 33s which I am happy about. His last run he didn't look off a yard. I think he's been forgotten about when you think how well he won at Newbury.

If Kandoo Kid comes into calculations, then Broadway Boy should do too - and he was 80/1 last time I looked. 5lb better off for length and three-quarter beating in that Newbury race and 2 years younger. I think he’s in with a chance and in my current top 3.

If they offer eight places, the aggregated place odds will have to be in excess of 800%, well in excess to allow for market fluctuations and give them a margin.

This will compress the win odds on everything.

You're often better off taking a win only price on the machine and having a place only bet in one of the many extended place markets that will be on offer on the day.

Does anyone really want to take, say, 12/1 ew eight places (12/5 the place) if they can get, say, 22 on the machine to win and odds against to place in one of the aforementioned place markets?

They can't halve the prices , but if they are 12/1 for a general 14/1 chance then that is understandable ........ if they went top price on everything then it would be commercial suicide.
Can any one remember if any bookie went 7 let alone 8 places last year ? I thought those days were gone, especially after the field was reduced to 34.

I expected 6, possibly 7 but not 8 places.
