Strange choice of race for Jonquil. He chased a suicidal pace in the French Guineas + battled back when Henri Matisse came to himThe fav has run very poorly. Back to the drawing board with that and Jonquil.
Watch the start Slim. How was it pace when the winner has raced alone?
Watch the start Slim.
The yank flew from his low draw, and set the tone for the whole race.
Yes this is correct. That's why you need to look where the pace is in a sprint race in particular - unless you are me and forget....Watch the start Slim.

Saint Lawrence is drawn 1 in the wokingham.gives me hope.
Great for Joseph Murphy family, Gary Carroll and Australia , definitely a go to sire now.
I understand that, but I'm wondering if there is a way you can find out in advance which draw number a horse has, or do they just randomly get given a stall when they get on the course? The draw bias is not so much of an issue ground wise on the round course. It's more about the position so they can get in a good spot to get round the bend and not get into traffic problems when they straighten up and want to quicken. The straight course yesterday the bias was favouring high numbers while today it's low numbers.
(Draw number is separate to horse number).

There is the racecard number and then in brackets next to it the horses' stall number.
High at Ascot on the straight course is the near side..
Low at Ascot on the straight course is the far side.
We were lead that way by Uncle. Hopefully he's made it pay. Now that's an " edge "The draw bias is not so much of an issue ground wise on the round course. I'm glad somebody actually read it!Draw biases can be great for punters until the market corrects, but CoCs and connections of poorly-drawn runners are obviously not fans.
The CoC might, after racing yesterday, have tried to water the apparent Stands' side bias away.
