I went to watch the Tour de France highlights as usual last night and was annoyed to see racing on! :ROFLMAO: How on earth did that happen?

I tend to not watch or even engage in mid-week racing unless it's something like Ascot, Goodwood, York, Newmarket etc. as I just haven't got time. So it passed me by that this was on.

At the end of the programme, they tot up returns and anyone posting a loss, is to be punished live on ITV (I think most viewers might prefer this to the singalong after Ascot every June).   • Being slapped across the face with a wet fish.
  • Put in stocks and have wet sponges thrown at them.
  • Have to wear a dunces hat for the next programme they appear on.
  • Do 25 press-ups.
  • Get a smelly sock and make the losers drink a pint of beer through it.
  • Lock them in a cage with a naughty monkey with a bucket of shit.

Some sort of electric shock based on how many lengths their selection is behind the winner
 
After winning on Hierarchy last night at Southwelll Saffie Osborne was interviewed on Sky Sports Racing and the interviewer was shocked to discover that she would be forsaking the glorious competition that is the racing league to ride a single entry for her father at poxy little Goodwood.
Shame on you Saffie this has tarnished the racing league for myself and I guess countless many others.
As a protest I will no longer be tuning into future racing league transmissions.
 
I've got three for this meeting - just don't ask me what teams they are because I don't know and I don't care. 😂

Only the William Hill Organisation betting at the moment, I want to organise thieving the cream of the prices once everyone chalks up before revealing all for anyone might be remotely interested.

I was talking bollocks - two firms are already betting on at least one race I am interested in.

In the 8.00, a 12-runner 1m4f Class 3 Handicap, Bet365 go 10/1 Burren Song.

I don't think the ground will be an issue, he seemed to run a decent race at Galway and his BHA OR is only 4lb higher here.

He's a 7yo, so vulnerable to bumping into one, but he's ridden by Saffie Osborne, who for some reason seems to do well in all this malarkey.

If you agree 10/1 is alright based on all that, you might want to take the 16/1 with William Hill. 😂

If others open up bigger, I will press up.

6.00 Lir Speciale about 12/1 atm. More than fair rated in the 90s this time last year. After a very bad run changed yards to Brian Ellsion. Handful of poor runs for him then gone for a breathing op. Cracking run at Yarmouth just done on the line front 3 pulling well clear. Respectable figure looks solid enough if it reproduces that or even comes on for the run as its the first time he's had a run where he could breath properly by the looks of it so more than possible. Thrown in on his old form and if it has just been a breathing issue then he's very well handicapped and 12/1 is a big price under the circumstances.

They say the only watering they've done this week was selective yesterday to maintain and the slowly increasing readings the last few days tend to support that claim.

It was 7.1 last meeting there, I'd say it was just about Good ground on times then and, with a cloudy but dry forecast for today, I reckon it will be more or less Good ground again.

Desperately unlucky, Danny, ran a blinder.
 
Yeah bumped into one hasn't he seemed to pull well clear of the rest as he did last time. I seem to be just having a run of near misses lately. Won't know how much it's done me for until later on as had him in a double with uncle smart arses Burren song later aswell as having him involved in another bet.
 
16/1 to 13/2....finishes 6½ seventh of 12.

Interesting ride on Sword in the 6.00 - the jockey was certainly seen to better effect on Billie Be Quick in the 7.30.

Yard obviously in form - I wonder if they've got a runner in the second race at Ascot on Saturday?
 
Eh Ian, Sword and Hornsea bay both short favourites for O'meara, both nowhere near, quick call Margaret we've found the culprit!
 
There's a £6,281 Class 4 Handicap at Musselburgh today - the Class 4s at Chepstow last night were £18,039, really good prize money for the grade.

You'd like to think the races would consequently be integrity-concern free.

From what I've seen so far, I couldn't personally make that assertion and I actually think I am a lot slower than some to wave that particular red flag.

Decent midweek evening racing, relatively speaking, but I agree with those who say you need to tread carefully.
 
Danny bet one that was 12/1 to 6/1, clearly trying for its life, and was only done a short-head last night.

It's not a black-and-white issue for me - I just think punters need to tread carefully with it.
