Winners have always been hard for me to find on the second day, so there’s a lot of hope invested. Not surprisingly I only square with Gemini once today (see below).

1:20: No Drama This End has been very impressive, although he had to work a bit harder last time. Also interested to see how Act Of Innocence goes and if he beats No Drama This End Nicholls won’t be at all pleased. Mullins likes to win this race and he has half a dozen trying for him.

2:00: They have been mucking about trying to find the right distance for Romeo Coolio and if he copes with this (he did win a point to point over three miles in his youth) he’ll take some beating. Whatever the result I doubt the home side will have much say in the matter.

2:40: The Yellow Clay hasn’t reached the heights of last year when he was second to The New Lion, but if first time pieces make a difference he should get nearer to it today.

3:20: Keith Donoghue is the absolute master of the cross country game and if Stumptown has recovered from the rigours of the Pardubice he can prove it again.

4:00: If the pieces work their magic one more I can’t see anything getting within spitting distance of Majborough. He’s my bet of the week.

4:40: Inthepocket ran his best of the season last time and I’m just going to rely on Henry to have him at his lifetime peak for this.

5:20: I’ve not seen a bumper horse to set my pulses racing and the race is stocked with potential and best watched to see how they sort themselves out. There have been vibes for Quiryn so I’ll go with that.

Blimey, that was a total wipe out all round. I’ve not had a day before where I didn’t even manage a place. I did say that winners have always been hard for me to find on the second day, but I wasn’t expecting that.

I:20 - Bambino Fever really impressed me on her second bumper run at Leopardstown and she’s done well for me ever since. Can’t desert her now. Bit worried about first time tongue tie, though.

2:00 - I don’t think Regent’s Stroll has quite lived up to potential Nicholls sees in him. This might be the time.

2;40 - Can’t see past Wodhooh in this and with Lossiemouth out of the way she should justify favouritism with ease.

3:20 - interesting one with the seasoned campaigners Teahupoo and Bob Ollinger up against new kids on the block Honesty Policyand Kabral Du Mathan. I’ll be going with Teahupoo.

4:00 - Fact To File is another odds-on favourite who should win, but Jonbon tries the extra distance here after never having been out of the first two in his career over two miles. He’s getting on a bit and has lost a bit of speed, but I’ll have to have a bit on him for old times sake.

4:40 - Supremely West has been aimed for this since the start of the season (so have others) and Dan Skelton thinks anything that beats him will be the winner. No surprise he’s gone favourite, but anything can jump out of the woodwork.

5:20 - Fraught with danger this one If I’ve got any money left I’ll probably keep it in my pocket, but the selection is Jeriko Du Reponet
