Oui Oui MonsieurAs the wonderful Shergar Cup takes centre stage this weekend I have decided to look for a decent priced winner elsewhere.
The reasoning being that most of the jockeys involved have little or no experience around Ascot.
I seem to recall that another forum member was a fan of Geoff Oldroyd whose last three runners were:
26/7 Air Force One won at York 15/2
27/7 Project Geofin won at Pontefract 11/1
02/8 Big Leader won at Thirsk 6/4
He tends to targets races up to a mile on northern tracks.
His sole entry this weekend is:
Monsieur Bondy in the first race at Redcar on Saturday over 7 furlongs.
On his debut he finished third behind two previous winners, he was keen early which was to be expected ran on but not given too hard a race once no chance of winning.
The sixth placed horse Breakdancer won last night for Simon & Ed Crisford going clear at the finish.
There are no prices for the race as yet but I will put it up now before I've backed it (just for you Ian!!!).
It's an eight horse race so there is an opportunity for all you each way lovers to get involved!!!
I spoke to him at Thirsk many moons ago he seemed a genuine down to earth guy.I remember seeing Geoff Oldroyd riding at Beverley back in the day.
Nice one PB.WON @ 18-1![]()
