If I absolutely KNEW today's ground would be at least "Good," and maybe even quicker, imo advantaging Henri Matisse and simultaneously disadvantaging the likes of Dancing Gemini, then yes, I'd consider 3/1 fair.

That said, though I don't much like the horse and think it was a mistake to go to York over 7f, Rosallion will like such ground too, along with Lead Artist.

I'm going to wait, pray they go a decent pace in the Foy (they often don't) and see what the race time tells me, if anything.
 
The ground will be good. The draw is a problem for Rosallion, given it’s a horse that doesn’t seem to need much to go wrong to lose. I won’t be surprised if Rosallion wins — I just wouldn’t bet on it.
 
If the ground is good then at the current prices id take the Diane form against Whirl. Aventure would be suited by softer. Gezora the obvious one to take it down but if the opinion is right then it stands a chance bedtime stories could follow her home and id probably have a rf to be on the safe side.
 
When Leffard won the Grand Prix De Paris in June he clocked 2m26.45s for 1m4f, 2.95s faster than the RP standard of 2m29.5s and it was officially Good to Soft (but surely was quicker than that).

They're still calling it Soft today and the Foy is in 15 minutes.

The French branch of "GAS" (Gaylords Avec Stopwatches) - of which I am a Life Member - with be monitoring the race time with great interest.

It's all about to kick off in Paris!

Sounds about right - Almaqam is a horse I've followed ever since seeing him win the Heron Stakes at Sandown Park last year.

I'm convinced he needs cut and, while he ran well, I thought he wasn't quite striding out with the same fluency he did on the Cooperfied Esher surface last year.
 
Japanese horse had no trouble there stepping down in trip from 2m to cut them down.
Not sure what that says about the rest of them. No Arc winner in there for me.
 
The Lion In Winter has run a stormer - it again wasn't the best G1 you'll ever see, but he's run a career best there after, the Prix Jean Prat aside, being largely disappointing since the Acomb.
 
Thought LA looked quite big down at the start. Suspect he's always been a good doer and I too think he ran a sound trial bearing in mind, he will appreciate more cut in the ground come the Arc.

Rosallion - you have to feel for connections! What does it take to get that win? TLIW ran a much improved race which was nice to see.
 
So what at the Lads going to be thinking now? You have to be disappointed with Whirl
