Hard not to respect Precise who won the Moyglare and added a second Group 1 by winning the Fillies' Mile going away.

But the Prix Marcel Boussac has historically been kind to me and I prefer stablemate Diamond Necklace at the moment.

Whatever DOESN'T get sent to the Breeders's Cup may have an advantage.

Right now, Diamond Necklace is the only filly on my mind for next year's 1,000 Guineas and the fact she isn't going to the Breeders' Cup pleases me no end.

I added Zanthos to my "Guinfolio" today.
I don't really know why....but you obviously have a good reason and it is priced at about 20/1
I don't have your depth of knowledge on racing ( & I'm not messing around to wind you up )
but with the sire being Sioux Nation who was a really good 5f/6f sprinter & the dam Brioniya who never won a race but did run a mile & whos sire Pivotel was also a sprinter
Wouldn't that indicate from the breeding that against other good horses he would be less effective at 8f rather than at 6 or 7f which he has won twice.

I am less interested in what a sire did on a racecourse than in what they went on to do at stud.

Sioux Nation's progeny have an overall 15% strike rate, 14% at 5f-6f and 13% at 7f-9f - plenty of milers in there.

The dam, who stayed 1m3f, has produced winners at 1m4f110yds and 1m.

Zanthos herself has had all three of her races so far at 7f and, to my eye, kept on well to win the Rockfel after making all.

I am confident the extra furlong will suit her well in the 1,000 Guineas next May.
