Ill be backing anything Skelton related in any handicaps with decent pots this year. Even if i give it no chance.

Since 2019 on Saturdays Wetherby card the Skeltons have picked up 1-3 winners every year, theres probably a system there for anybody that can be arsed to make 1.
I’m currently looking at Kateira 7/2 as the value bet in the mares hurdle to take on Golden Ace at 1/2. I noticed previous grade 1 winners haven’t won that race and I don’t fancy Desert Enos in this (ahem) fascinating 3 horse encounter.

Had a quick look based on Oct/Nov CL 1-4 races on Saturdays at Wetherby and overall record reads 17/56 since 2014 and profitable backing blind at SP. However all 17 winners were 1st - 3rd favs and showed a 17/36 record for a +33 point gain at BFSP. So when 1st - 3rd Favs hurdlers have a 14/25 record (+33 pts) runners who last ran with 25 days reads 8/12 + 23 pts (7/10 if ridden by Harry) or unraced/last ran 91+ days = 10/15 + 13 pts (7/13 if ridden by Harry)

If getting involved in this ante-post before the book closes circa 8am tomorrow you obviously needs something that: goes on the ground, preferably doesn't hold alternative engagements, has some sort of chance in any event and is going to RUN.

The Venetia Williams November groupies will be with Martator who has Charlie Deutsch jocked up, I think Thistle Ask is quite interesting but he's one of four entries from the yard and I could also be a bit interested in Gabriel's Getaway if he was declared and the weights rose 8lb plus, but he might not be and they surely won't if the top weight shortening in the betting is any guide.

Intriguing little contest - I must get back to (Devon &) Exeter one day (first went late seventies), even if I am gutted they gave up on summer racing and the 3m1f chute start is no longer used.

Your Favourite Uncle Smart Arse has had a butchers and Saint Segal and Thistle Ask (mentioned on the Grand Sefton thread on Sunday) look better value dutched than the jolly, who might be proper decent but returns from a layoff and, as Oxford astutely points out, is only five, which means he's really ickle and only just started school (assuming horses get a State education at the very least).
