The 2025 November Handicap

Macari is a standout 33/1 with laddies/coral. Seemed to show improved form last time out maybe for the soft ground and the drop down in trip. That day he beat Millers Spirit when he weighed in 15lb light. Miller's spirit himself is as low as 12's for this was only beaten a few lengths in it last year and is currently off a better mark. 1m4f at Newbury on soft ground would have been ideal for him and for Macari to have still of beaten him on 15lb wrong terms is at least worth taking note of. Although 1+1 doesnt always equal 2 I cant help but think there must be some value in Macari here.

Having had a proper look i didnt realise the racing post entries dont list the by OR amd he was number 17 on the list. However he's number 30 on OR a few have double entries but he still might struggle to get in as its a max of 23 runners. A lot of the major handicaps this season havent filled the max amount of runners it'll be sods law that this one does. Hopefully he can sneak in at the bottom and the price holds up.

Danny,
Try RP pro card - it works for me.

If you look at the entries, you'll see 'weight OR' at the top of the runners. Click on that and it will list the horses according to their OR.

Am I being silly? Did you know that already?

Yeah i knew that but was looking off my phone and for some reason it doesnt do it on the mobile site. They always used to be listed in OR order anyway as far as I can remember but apparently not anymore. I think they still are from the 48 hour stage.

Castle Cove has been on my tracker since his win at Chester and I didn't back him the last day as it was a big step up in trip but he ran really well and 12f looks to suit him. He's a shite price so I've just put him in one of my American sports project doubles.

I've settled on Millers spirit
Ran in it last year with Queally up.and is 24lb better off with Lord Melbourn
15lb with Oneforthegutter 21lb with stressfree 9lb with adjuvant and master builder.
I know its last run with him weighing in 15lb light is a concern.
It would be good for him to win for his grandad.

Like the chances of hot fuss, haf a nice break, after a poor run in Chester cup, trainer says alot of positives, apparently been working really well at home.will appreciate the ground, also same stall as last years winner. 16/1.

YFUSA's "Novfolio" is Miss Dolly Rocker and Maxi King and, to commemorate the 45th anniversary of YFUSA backing Path Of Peace at 25/1 (SP 14/1) in this, YFUSA is giving the TH Massive the Tricast (you're all forbidden from doing the Trifecta as YFUSA fully intends to "cop the lot" for himself there) combination with Castle Cove.

No need to thank YFUSA, he's all about putting hot food on the tables of the less fortunate on November Saturday evenings.

OMG is it 45 years!! Feels like yesterday. I remember Pathy liked heavy ground, and it was tipping down all day. Listened on the radio while working in a VG Foodstore with my first ever tenner riding on a horse (I only earned £28.50 a week!), taking the morning 25's in the Tote next door.

Tried to give my Dad a twenty out of the winnings. But he never took it. With hindsight, he probably had it right off, but wanted to keep it a little quiet

It sure is 45 years!

I bet the horse at 25/1 in an Art Wells betting shop in Hull and Jimmy Bleasdale, who rode the first significant winner I ever backed (Money To Spare at Beverley in 1977) and whose early career I followed closely, got Path Of Peace home by half a length - fantastic memories for both of us!

The Teller would like to give a shout to Tiernan. Beaten at 1/5 last time in an egg and spoon race, though better can be expected today by this son of Dubawi, for trainer Iain Jardine, who I couldn't put anything past. 🤣

My overall take on the race, is there's either a dozen well handicapped horses that could win this, and most of them have already been named on this thread, or everything is not what it seems, and a maiden, namely Tiernan, can the land the spoils.

First, second and....fourth.

Atherstone Warrior, you just became my least-favourite horse in training.

I'll have to content myself with the forecast and the Exacta - FML.
