Away from the media spotlight of Cheltenham's November Meeting and the attendant Razzmatazz of Danny getting arrested for drunkenly attempting to assault a trainer (who not only ate all the pies, but landed a plot in the Paddy Power) and ending up on remand because pawras refused to put up a bail bond, down in leafy Sussex, this multi-circuit feast beckons.

YFUSA's eye is drawn to 8/1 poke Ken Roy, who won in cold blood at Plumpton a bit further eastwards recently.

This beast hasn't had much racing, is still only a 6yo, is jocked up, holds no other engagements and, if he gets the marathon trip, they just might not see which way he went.

No need to thank YFUSA, he's all about helping those in a cell down Cheltenham Nick.

Mildly surprised Aworkinprogress doesn't go here.

One interpretation might be they think he can just go to Uttoxeter instead and pick up 4 grand for doing nothing, before stepping up for a more valuable race a bit further on.

I thought it was a bit odd too. Perhaps they wanted to pick the easiest looking race for his first run of the season, and thought that a win and going up a few pounds from a rating of 121 wouldn't be a disadvantage for something like the Welsh National.
He also has an entry for Tuesday at Lingfield ( 0-120, two miles and six), and I think he was in the long-distance race at Cheltenham on Sunday.

Ken drifted like the proverbial, but ran alright - enjoyable race to watch.

I backed Neo King in running. I did ( aftertiming alert) back the winner but that doesn’t count because I have far too many bets in races like this, which is why I rarely put them up. Painful, that. Did back Marble Sands in running too, though. Betting in running is too time consuming but I think I’m quite good at it!
