Here are my bets for the UK's all-weather races today. Initial selections are from the Kempton meeting. There may be more to follow later.
Note, the point of writing up these selections is always to illustrate which horses are carrying my personal bets. And those bets are always derived/determined from the processes outlined in the book: UK All-Weather Racing: A Specialist's Guide to Finding Value on the AW
8:30 KEMPTON - Handicap (Rider Restricted) (London Middle Distance Qual') (GBBPlus) (0-85) (4) 4yo+. 1M 2F
SOLARIZE - He’s an unexposed and lightly raced 4 year old colt. He last won 106 days ago and had had 1 race since. Last time out was at Southwell 82 days ago, he ran in a class 2 over 12 furlongs and finished 5th beaten by 4.5 lengths. The race looked a fairly strong run race based on the Vs.Par metric being -0.90s. Once the race was gone the jockey Danny Muscutt didn’t give him a hard time.
I think his best performance to date was on 4/11/25 at Wolverhampton over 1M 4F in a class 4 race. He won the race well. The metrics for the race were really strong. His finishing sectionals are all quite strong. Any repeat of that level of form will have him winning this or going very close.
He’s dropping back into much calmer waters today. This is a class 4 race and he also drops slightly in distance which I believe should be more suitable. His handicap mark is 80 and he races off 84 today.
