What are you backing Today? Part 2

Naas 3.30 - I'm going to take on the favourite with D Art D Art, who has really solid handicap form, having finished 8th in a Pertemps Final at Cheltenham around this time last year off a higher mark of 136. The favourite obviously represents interesting connections, owned by the Waley Cohens and could prove a blot on the handicap, but he's ridiculously short, and this is mainly just based on 'his potential in handicaps'. Win, lose or draw, I have to take him on today with D Art D Art at these prices. He looks the right bet before the race anyway, let's see if that's still the case afterwards.

Nurse Susan - Fontwell 14:50 - 7/2 with the books but one can get 9/2+ on the exchanges (after commission). She impressed me in the last couple of wins. Gutsy and determined, won both cosily enough in the end despite being hampered and having to switch.

2.42 Newcastle Okami
Two from two over C&D with 5lb claimer aboard. Have cross checked with the methods used by Dave Watts in particular for this venue (excellent concise book Dave btw) and it gives me hope for a good show. 9/1 ew

3.12 Newcastle - Whisky Dreams , yet to beat a horse home in two starts and hard to fancy if I'm being honest, but bred to be more suited to this 6f trip than the mile that she raced over last time out - and this being her second run back since wind surgery you can hope she would strip fitter. A longshot but may not quite be the 200/1 chance that Bet365 make her ....... minimum EW interest only, but at those odds you don't need much on to make it worthwhile.
