Hi, I thought I should say hello.

I have been interested since being a small child in the 70s.

I was keen on studying form, and took a big leap forwards in the mid to late 80s when subscribing to Andrew Barr's Weekend Fanzine. It was very educational, and set me on a path that led me to odds compiling, then trading. I drifted from form study as it wasn't required for work and I focused on sports punting, but the availability of sectional timing data drew.me back in.

I'm now working on automating the approaches I used years ago as a time saver. e

I don't punt much right now but I'm hoping my current endeavours will bear fruit and my punting will increase.

I'm flat only, including the AW.

I now press send, then read this back and spot loads of grammar errors.

It's just occurred to me that given I work as a trader I should justify my presence here.

I work for a company that isn't licensed for UK customers and geo-blocks UK and irish log-ins. In addition our prices are auto-generated as are most of our trading decisions.

We do cover European racing but our prices aren't competitive in this region and we don't even offer each way betting.

I'm here as someone who loves the puzzle of UK racing, nothing more.

Welcome - hope you enjoy your time on here and get stuck into posting. We have had a few newbies recently who have made excellent contributions and more are most certainly welcome.

Welcome, neiloc, and good luck with your venture.

I’m old school, pen, paper and dwindling grey matter so would be grateful if you could present your findings in golden retriever so that I can understand them 👍😎

Thanks DO,

A few years ago, I started to get stuck into the form again and was doing so so, but whenever I missed a period because of a holiday or illness, I just couldn't catch up. Also, when odds compiling for a living I could detach and not be unduly swayed by horses I liked, now many years later I cannot do that so well. The solution is to try and get the computer to follow my old processes with the detachment I can no longer find.

I don't study like I used to until fairly recently and now really only look that closely at the races that interest me the most, eg the Schweppes, Grand National, etc.

Going back into the form is like riding a bike but between issues with my eyesight, age, shift of focus to things that matter more, etc, it's more cursory these days.
