He's in court for gbh or abh.
There was a 72 yr old man walking his dog and EW thought he was a lamper and he attacked him with a hockey stick, fracturing his arm.
He said he didn't hit him and he must have tripped over a drainage ditch and also he didn't have a hockey stick.
Connor Ring was with him and said "that's enough "
Two police officers were there and one said he saw him hit him and the othe one said he saw him with a hockey stick.
Trial is expected to last 4 days.

I expect a Hound Of the Baskervilles solution.

The police inspector saw the assault and has given evidence.(Report in today's Times). The charges are very serious ones. IMHO Williams is in the very deepest "mire".

Can someone explain how, if someone is lamping on your property, you only assault them once the guards are watching? This story doesn’t add up.

It is a bit of a mystery. Hypothetically, it could add up if the assailant is tanked up and hyped up and indeed a bit scared. Not sure why anyone would try to get ahead of the law in tackling trespassers? I imagine lampers are a nuisance, but they are no threat to horses at that time of night? Only rabbits.
