    Cheltenham Hunter Chase evening

Martin is still around but lived in France for a while so is not so tuned in to the pointing back here. Oh keep an eye out for a young jockey called Rian Corcoran. He's riding two outsiders tonight in Liberty Rock and Honest Opinion. We gave him our Wessex Rising Star award last year (I...

    Cheltenham Hunter Chase evening

Thought I'd do a thread with a few comments in case anyone is interested. But please note that I don't know those horses really that are out of my Area in the West Country. There will also be at least one big riced winner which will look obvious in hindsight!! Gullible may also like to chip...

    Oisin Murphy

Apparently he is the jockey involved in the serious crash on Saturday evening on his way back from Leicester. It sounds like the female passenger has fairly serious injuries too and Oisin was arrested...

End of the line for Fist

I think its a lovely idea and one to consider once we get it confirmed. Conscious that we might be pre-empting his demise.

    Punchestown

Well I was correct in my analysis about Kopek des Bordes not being the second coming after I saw him win at Cheltenham but that was too bad to be true. I didn't think he was moving particularly well in the latter stages and wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't got a problem brewing.

Equine Retirements, Long Term Injuries and Departures

I don't think many racegoers know quite how incredibly efficient the vets are at racecourses or how much they actually do. Even within the point to point field it's noticeable. For example my Area has purchased a "Newmarket boot" which is a boot which can be used when a horse suffers a bad leg...

Yes I think you are correct DO. The other horse cannoned into the back of him.

    Flatties to follow 2025

I suspect that both Charles Darwin and Whistlejacket should be popped into the tracker for Ascot after today for the Coventry/Norfolk and Commonwealth Cup respectively.

    Flatties to follow 2025

I was taken with Swagman today at Sandown. He may not have been to the fore as one of the leading lights in the Classic roster for Ballydoyle but it gives them a good pointer for the rest of their team. But I thought it was a good performance and he was having a proper blow afterwards. Can see...
