One thing you are is fair, Mister B. I speak as one who once served a deserved one week ban.

I take your point, Ian, but you two grew to respect each other, because neither of you take offence at name-calling. And you largely deliver on your tips - you both have earned the respect of the forum. There’s a difference between that and calling a new member a C, and wantonly going on a...

You can’t say what you like - say exactly what you are thinking - anytime you feel like it, if the intention is to cause maximum offence, and not suffer consequences. Slim has absented himself many times from this forum over the years. The forum will be fine.

Banned for one/ two weeks for going on an effing and jeffing spree on Saturday. I fear drink may have been taken.

Using the original criteria, the two I will be backing are: Take a Hike (Freddie Keighley, 1-7 strike rate in the last 14 days); and Chosen Hero (Rian Corcoran, 1-13 strike rate). Thanks for the alert, Jayhawk.

I’ve only done the three so far, all involving Golden Ace in the CH. Two ew doubles, with Lecky Watson and Haiti Coleurs; and one ew single at 16/1. Seven weeks out, I would usually have a proper portfolio on the go. I don’t think ‘Festival Fever’ has set me alight just yet.

I don’t agree. I’ve just watched a re-run. CH is always within three lengths of the other two, and the three of them were almost in line, when DD fell. The race fell apart to the extent that CH won by as many lengths as he was capable. Whatever way that race is run, CH is still winning it by a...

Retire a great champion, who owes nothing to any punter. The greatest Supreme winner ever. A very good CH winner. Just leave it there.

I must admit that the hypocrite cry hangs heavily. I content myself that I’m sure that is the only area of my life, where I display any hypocrisy. And horse racing is still I sport I love. Frankel’s Juddmonte and Kauto’s last Betfair win are very happy memories, that will never leave me.

Strangely enough, it’s probably more distressing seeing it all unfold on a tv screen, than it is when you’re actually at the course. The very sad news is delivered in hushed and dramatic tones on the tv, adding a whole new layer of grief. I hate it, when it happens. And I hate myself more at...

    Irish Sunday Racing Thread

A lot of racing is bent, which is why seasoned punters never take anything at face value. That’s why the insight on this forum is so instructive, particularly when trainers target certain races. Although, did anyone know that NJH targets the Lanzarote? A horse of that class - that seemed to...
