I think this is first time I started this thread. I am looking forward to seeing many posts, two members in particular who I have loads of respect for who I would love to see posting. Grasshopper and Granger, two absolute legendary posters on this forum. Boy have we had some great threads on this forum re CH. Lets have a good un this time guys.

All depends on the well-being of Constitution Hill. OK and it’s a no contest.
It does indeed but it is a long time until March and then you have to throw in the Henderson caution. What are the odds on CH being OK next March? That is the question.

Willie needs to send one to Kempton.

Ruffle a few feathers.

I imagine they navigate an "easy" route to March for Lossie

Some of them Cheltenham Saturdays

The last thing Nicky will do is send Constitution Hill out half cocked. He'll be 110% fit first time up and wont be beaten.

Seriously State Man is still the best hurdler in Willies yard Lossie will have to improve over a stone to even worry the champ

I wonder what's more important to Nicky getting a run into CH or protecting his unbeaten record? When he brought Sprinter back he lost due to lack of fitness but he had already been pu in his last run..He has time to give him a run and still have time for a 2nd run before the big one so he may just send him to Kempton 90%

Would need to be really really special just to beat State Man. damned if I can think of one to be honest
I was thinking about a Collier Bay/ Make A Stand type Tanlic who improves from now, winning handicaps easily as it climbs in class. Hard to see it as you say, would love to see one go against State Man though. We need something in the hurdling division to break the cycle of CH or State Man. Just to add, Make A Stand is still one of the best horses at a hurdle I have ever seen. Not the greatest rating horse but my goodness he could hurdle. I want to see CH be a great do not get me wrong, but that gets harder to see as it seems we won't see him again, never know with Hendo, he could turn it out on the day with no run, or just one similar to a See You Then job. This will he, won't he take part, is messing the race up imo

I wonder though if we might get an improving handicapper like we have in the past?

Was it Valiramix that improving handicapper that looked like he was about to dot up in a champion hurdle before falling on the flat ?

It was I just was about to put up the video from you tube but forgot it was a fatality so won't put it on.

I think Valiramax had won above handicap level before the CH, whereas Collier and MAS came from handicaps Danny, might be wrong, memory etc

Collier Bay's CH was almost as bad as Flakey Dove's and Dawn Run's.

Make A Stand was brilliant over a hurdle.

Rooster Booster was a mid 150s handicapper the season before but did win the Greatwood and CH in the same season, the former under top weight.

After his gallop Ladbrokes WERE offering 11/10 Constitution Hill for the Christmas Hurdle with Lossiempoyh 8/11 the seem to have pulled the prices for some reason

In terms of what could be statistically classed as trial races for the Champion Hurdle , the two most significant are the

Punchestown Champion Hurdle in May , won by Stateman
Fairyhouse Hattons Grace Hurdle in Dec, won by Lossiemouth

Interesting take on Lossiemouths partisipation on the Christmas Hurdle. He reckons nothing is cast in stone and she may go elsewhere and that the only plan is to avoid State Man.

However he is adamant she will go for the Champion Hurdle and not the Mares

The Bula would be pretty high on my list.
