A J Martin looms large over Cheltenham this weekend.
A lot of entries for a man just 2 weeks back in the job he could be the key to the weekend.
Local lad Daniel King has really come of age as a jockey this year, so knows where to find the lollipop.
Paddy Twomey /Billy Lee combine to give the fillies Bumper a fright Saturday .
The older among you will remember Billy's flirtation with Nh races as a boy; now he is fully fledged he will not be found wanting.

I only did two races today, two tomorrow and I haven't looked at Sunday yet although I always study the Greatwood.

Mr. Coffee has yet to deliver but I suspect with 10st2lbs he'll go close today. Looking forward to Jonbon strutting his stuff..amazing how Nicky manages to find there walkovers for him

Greatwood - my main bet is on Jacovec Tavern (14/1, 5 places). He was sent off 5/1f for the Ces but didn’t get home. His juvenile form with Lossiemouth puts her in here off 140 and she’s currently rated 156. Very possibly an Emmet Mullins 'job'.

If I was punting this Doyen Quest would be my idea of a banker..should maybe in the should be odds on thread he is so far ahead of these

To be honest, if I had backed that it would have been a very uncomfortable watch for me but he got there eventually. I'll be rating him with a '++' as he has to have plenty more in reserve.

Interesting, too, to hear the trainer say he has a few others for the Haydock race next week!

And well done, Tanlic

Edit - they have 7 others entered at Haydock.

Hope you made a nice few quid edgt.

What put you on to Seo Linn? Was overpriced at 12's in the morning but didn't see it shortening that much.

Now generally 20s, which is a worry, but at least it now qualifies for the longshot thread 🤣

Another quiet day.

I'm very surprised at how few races over the three days have caught my interest. Maybe it's time to take it back to two days and get rid of the dross.

2.25 - Monbeg Genius was many people’s idea of the Grand National winner early last season but it’s possible the hard race in the Ultima at the end of the previous season got to him, he’s been sold ahead of this seasonal debut and the stable jockey doesn’t ride. That’s enough to put me off. Nassalam’s Welsh National win looked more and more freakish as the form unfolded and he might just need ground that nothing else acts in. Manofthepeople is the percentage call, I reckon, with plenty of improvement possible. He's now my only bet [ew] in the race. The second-season novices (Abuffalosoldier & Hymac), as the betting suggests, might be the main dangers with improvement very likely.

It’s easy to see why Burdett Road is one of the favourites having seen it hack up recently in a decent race on the Flat at Newmarket and there could be more to come into this second season over hurdles. I’ll use him to cover my other bets in the race. The second-season novices are the ones that interest me most but from a price perspective I’m leaving Dysart Enos and Be Aware out of calculations. Black Poppy, Cracking Rhapsody and Royal Way are all worth small bets at big odds. The main bet is Jacovec Tavern who was sent off 5/1f for the Ces but didn’t get home. His juvenile form with Lossiemouth puts her in here off 140 and she’s currently rated 156.

There's nothing price wise between Nicky's Peeky Boy 2.92 in the 2nd and Sweet Caroline later at Fontwell
My take is if they go a steady gallop st Cheltenham it will badly affect Peaky Boy's jumpingvwho I reckon will balloon his fences and unless Nico kicks on and leads I would lay him to be out of the first 2. I would recommend to put any winnings on Joe Tizzzards later.

I've taken Jonjo's Bob Bob Ricard in that one at Cheltenham. A Shame about the 7 runners, but could be a big price.
