Novice Chasers 24-25

Looking forward to Caldwell Potter’s debut run today (Carlisle 12.55). No betting proposition obviously - backing novice chasers at 1/6 isn’t for me

Caldwell Potter did it easy as you would hope so at those odds. I wasn't overly impressed with the jumping though, he's a novice so things to work on naturally, but his jumping and technique looked a little clumsy.

The other Elliott one Touch me not interests me at this stage. Doubt Elliott will send both over though

Interesting comments from WPM that the best jumper of a fence he had in schooling was Mystical Power...

One I'm looking for out soon is Majborough from the same stable

Given these ratings Touch Me Not has to be a bet for Saturday at 14/1 with Bet365 with L’Eau du Sud just 1lb higher rated but 8/13

Now 6/1 best which is more like the price I expected so happy enough with the 14/1 I took

Annoying that Rubaud got taken out so my bet was win only.

Ploughing through one didn’t help and it took him a fence or two to recover but I’m not got giving up on Touch Me Not

Ground looked tough out there on the chase course and the winner did well especially after that mistake.

Down Memory Lane is still a baby experience wise as as only his 6th race and they've completely changed the tactics from last time. I think he will be a lot better on faster ground (he was nodding all the way round) as he's out of a Presenting mare and they usually hate really soft conditions.

Possibly - it was strange that they jumped him off at the back after last time and then he didn't really get into it.

I don't usually get involved in these threads but I'd just like to say Majborough clearly isn't a 4yo and he clearly isn't a horse - he's a middle-aged elephant, or a double decker bus, or The Empire State Building, or something similarly huge.

Seemed to grow into and enjoy jumping those tiny things that were several storeys below him, though.

Pure class and he beat a couple of decent ones easily. Lets hope he stays right and continues in this vein.
