No prizes for guessing which firm I've arranged to have a bet with.

Always nice to see sitting on decent prices going into a race.

My chief concern is the ground might turn out to be a bit on the easy side for Wild Waves (in particular) and possibly Align The Stars too on his very best form and, if so, that could let Chillingham into it.

Early race times will tell me more about the true state of the ground.

Interesting race.

I hope a few forumites had the 20/1 the winner earlier in the week - clearly a better Flat horse than a hurdler as, if he wasn't, he would have bolted in at Ayr last week.

Well, my lad ran honourably as usual. Pleased that a horse with a similar profile won. Good to know that you don’t always have to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds for a good horse. ( just saw his horse box go by: he’ll be tucked up in his stable by now).

I've now seen the race without knowing the result.

I was never happy with ATS at any point. Maybe this was too soon after last week's race. I'd be pretty confident I'll get my money back on him soon.

Well done Kihavah backers, especially if you got nice odds about it.

Appalling aftertiming from me, but I did cherry-pick quite a few ante-post prices which were out of line. including the 20/1 Kihavah (half those odds elsewhere at the time and SP 7/1) but he was far from my main bet (which was Wild Waves) and I barely scraped the tiniest profit on the race.

If he was the same horse over timber as on the Flat he would have won the Scottish Champion Hurdle off his Jumps mark - FACT.

I enjoyed the race and the Musselburgh card generally - underrated Saturday meeting on the Racing Calendar that one IMO.
