Collect your winnings n move onGiavellotto isn't good enough. It's not hard to work out.
No you don't. Calandagan is a dog. You finish second four times in a row for a reason.I'd need to care what anyone else thought of me before I'd need a chest code.
Anyway, re the Coronation Cup, switch the jockeys, you get a different result, but we knew that before the race If it was close.

He showed a bit more speed there than I thought he had.
Wonder if they'll abandon a Gold Cup bid + concentrate on the King George ?
He'd be a player on that in a strongly run race.
No. He's just a twicer. Sometimes it's ok to just say what you see.Well he was gelded for a reason.
Then again, Cirrus des Aigles finished second seven times in his first ten starts , took 38 races to win his first Group1 and ended up winning seven.
Frustrating would be a better description Slim.
Should of had the fc!So it's going to be good ground.
I bet Jan Brueghel.
Yup. Got their a week too early. Needed one swoop. JB is one of those trenches type.Ruby Walsh (before the race) and then Aidan himself (after the race) explained it on RTV. Ryan Moore waited for Calandagan to join him two furlongs out because he wanted to get Calandagan into a duel. Jan Brueghel relishes a battle and stays better than the runner up.
Halcyon DaysCheers, Slim. The "Should Be Odds-On Thread" is going great guns but I'd love to see a reprisal of the Will Win Thread. The smack talk was almost as entertaining as the selections.
The horse is a bust. They've basically said he has to be dropped in. If he got a hot pace in a Breeders Cup then maybe but other than that I'd never bet him.In fairness to calandagan he has been beaten by some pretty good horses and jan brugheul could turn out to be a proper 12f group one horse as he showed he wasn't short of toe in the last two furlongs. Dont think you can blame the rider. Just wasn't either good or brave enough. Maybe ride him closer to the pace so he can kick on 2f out and not always be chasing down the leader. Just a thought.
Oisin gave him a desperate ride, in no man's land coming down Tattenham Corner where Barza went up the inside and made two or three lengths on him. All the while, Moore rode the ears off both and was setting sail for home.Strange race. I look forward to the sectionals.
I have no issues with JB winning since he did me a nice turn in the Leger and it reinforces my doubts about Calandagan.
However, I have to be disappointed with Giavellotto. Murphy looked super confident through the first half of the race but he didn't pick up anywhere near as well as he did in Hong Kong.
I'm reluctant to blame the ground since he hacked up in similar ground at Newmarket last summer.
As I say, the sectionals will be interesting. It looked to me like they slowed down mid-race and the winner was best-placed to take advantage.
Well done backers of JB.
And I wish to fvck the presenters would pronounce his name properly. It isn't "Broy-ghel", it's "Bru-ghel". Murtagh has been pronouncing it correctly.
The man is back children will be fed, utility bills will be paid and pints will be sunk on the back of this result.Coronation Cup

The strongest bet of the weekend might well be Jan Brueghel at 4/1 or 9/2. There must be a temptation for Ryan Moore to go from the front—he won’t be found wanting for stamina. Calandagan is a high-class horse, but there’s a serious hole in him. Three seconds in a row tells you that without needing to dig deeper.
The 4/6 about him is a fairly tragic price, and Jan Brueghel turning up here rather than replacing Kyprios on the Cup circuit is a big statement. I could see him being backed into around 11/4 to 3/1.
Epsom's clearly a stiffer test than Sha Tin.Strange race. I look forward to the sectionals.
