I resisted today as well as I thought about this race and not wanting a penalty.

On the Newbury card at the weekend Hills have priced up the World Trophy sprint that Tis Marvellous always used to win and they've got Montassib at the head of the market at 4s. This will be a prep run for Ascot and he normally finishes fast and late over 6 so for me he's got no chance in this which means there has to be a bit of value somewhere. I've come down on Rumstar at 6/1 - ran well in the Nunthorpe from the wrong part of the track the last day and won the Charge at Sandown before that. Shagraan who followed him home in that race is also interesting at 10s.
At Ayr in the Doooooonside Cup Damysus heads the market at 9/2. I kind of like that price (he was very taking at Deauville in his last start after blowing out at Epsom) but the owners have three horses in this including King's Gambit who would also interest me but who knows what running plans are. Could be ground related.
