Hi, I’m Dave
I’ve loved horse racing since the late 80s and have always been fascinated by both National Hunt and Flat racing. For me, it’s never just been about picking winners it’s about studying the form, digging into the details, and trying to solve the puzzle that horse racing presents.
Over time, with limited hours in the day (and wanting to be a bit smarter with my punting!), I decided to narrow my focus to All-Weather racing. It was still fairly new back then and often misunderstood, which really appealed to me. By specialising in this smaller niche, I found I could build a real edge and that’s when the consistent profits started to come.
My approach has always been evidence-based rather than hype or opinions. I stick to the fundamentals: old-fashioned form study, plenty of race replays, speed figures, RaceIQ metrics, and sectional data. It’s all about letting the numbers and the races tell the story.
Along the way, I’ve had a few highlights. I finished 8th in the Flat Ten to Follow competition in the early 2000s, which earned me just under £5,000. I also ran a daily blog for a couple of years focused mainly on All-Weather racing, finishing over 300 points in profit. A few big forecast wins certainly helped boost those totals! I eventually stepped away from the blog due to time pressures (and the occasional online troll — part of the territory, I guess).
Like everyone who bets, I’ve had both winning streaks and tough runs — that’s racing. But everything I’ve ever shared has been my own selections, backed by my own analysis, and my own money on the line.
Most recently, I ticked off a real bucket-list goal: writing and publishing a book focused on UK All-Weather sprint racing. It’s something I’m incredibly proud of and a great way to share what I’ve learned over the years.
Thanks for reading, and here’s to solving a few more racing puzzles together!
