Friday 30th Jan 2026 - Today's Bets, Betting, Race & Runner Analysis + Future Pointers

Might be a newish sire to watch - Japan. Taifuu put away the 3-20 favorite in the 2.40 at Meydan, having already won two races in Denmark. Hasn't had any Ireland runners, and only a few UK. But of those few, one ran 3rd in a Newmarket maiden at 22-1, one had a few runs winning one at 33-1.

Friday 30th Jan 2026 - Today's Bets, Betting, Race & Runner Analysis + Future Pointers

A mid-way catch up.... Thequietman 1.32 Southwell Missed this, got caught moving furniture! Nowhere, and went off 36 SP. Another day, maybe, when DOM wants it. Singoura 2.32 Gemma Tutty trained Rajasinghe. Joanna Mason up, has ridden around 5 times, each time Singoura has run a nice...

PS DO, the last known word from the Skeltons (post Windsor) is the County is Conti's next target. But you may well be right, and there's a 'bigger' plan that didn't need to be communicated.

ofc, I'm exposed to Conti at 33s already, taken before Windsor. And that run was perfectly promising, as hoped. But yeah, the way you've put it there DO, hopes are receding further. They probably do actually believe they cracked it with Rain, and he'll skate up. The best I've seen so far for...

A good perspective, BJ. And has just given me a little hope that Live Conti lines up next Saturday. If he thinks he has the County winner, then there's an argument he already has the Betfair winner. So why not go for it for the extra coins? Unless the thinking is the County is in the bag, why...

Friday 30th Jan 2026 - Today's Bets, Betting, Race & Runner Analysis + Future Pointers

Potential bets today at Southwell, Ffos Las, Catterick, Dundalk, Wolves, Meydan, and one or two in France. All noted on first scan. As always, actual bets depend on prices nearer the off and a deeper analysis of other runners. Several of these will be watchers. The list and early notes...

Welcome Runa Spill those opinions, always good to see new/additional thoughts. Re GD. I'm not so sure they were playing Skelton games here. Which, ofc, they are very good at. This wasn't the type of race you come into not wanting to win. Yeah, they wouldn't have wanted too hard a race. But...

Thursday 29th Jan 2026 - Today's Bets, Betting, Race & Runner Analysis + Future Pointers

Plenty of racing on today. On first scan, some noteworthy (to varying degrees) runners at Lingfield, Chelmsford, Wincanton, Ayr, maybe Thurles, and one or two to watch at Deauville. As always, actual bets will heavily depend on odds relative to perceived chances and competition strength. Early...

Yes, it helped. And ofc I'm searching using the exact term. But it'll probably be showing for other terms. If I'd just called it 'today' I doubt if it would be competing in that way. But the real illustration here is the inherent topical authority that TH has got. + the fact it's a forum, and...

Oh my. You got me going, BJ. And I thought I cried everything I had out last night. That must be tough beyond words. For both of you. I guess your instinct is unless he's showing any obvious signs of heavy pain or distress, then the 'right' thing to do is help him have the most comfortable...

    Weds 28th Jan - Today's Bets, Betting, & Race Analysis + Thoughts

Happy Valley 10.40 This is the lowest class you can get in HK racing - a 46k Class 5. The rank outsider Turf Phoenix might be able to do something here. I'll probably only chance a small bet if it looks like 50+ might be available on the pool or the UK bookies go big enough. Turf is now 5...

    Weight

The weighted vest is more about weight loss and cardio improvements currently, most specifically in relation to blood glucose control. A subject I will unashamedly claim to know like the back of my hand. A fascinating subject, too, but more about that in another thread.

I lost count of the number of well-educated-looking ladies I went up to at Cheltenham and asked ' you're not JJ by any chance, are you?' It drew a few looks along the lines of 'who on earth is this idiot?' But it was worth finding you :)

You could feel the emotion at the time in that post you're referring to, JJ. I hope your two are comfortable for as long as possible. One thing's for sure, they couldn't be better off with anyone else. And they'll know it.

I get that, of course. I look at it this way... You're not replacing or replicating. Every dog is unique and their own person. It's just different. And somewhere there is a dog that needs someone. (well, many that need someone). I would have 100 here if it were feasible :) Sadly, Pickle...

When we lost Cookie the Beagle, it was like the world caved in. When we lose Pickle, I have no concept of how to handle that. It doesn't bear thinking. But you have to take the here and now gratefully. And cherish the good memories when they're no longer here.
