Bar, can I claim the prize for Camelot? I wonder (and hope very much) he can follow up as a 3 year old. Mind you, Fabre's Mandaean looks very good too. Would there be a problem splitting the prize 50/50 between Macmillan Nurses (www.macmillan.org.uk) and Medecins San Frontieres...

Or can Daddy Long Legs pull off an impressive winning performance at the Breeders' Cup? Re Camelot: Was great to see such an exciting performance after the less than spectacular Middle Park and Dewhurst.

    Dubai Prince

Don't know about world-beater but hopefully he'll win this race and go on to better things. (Poor Seville - he does take a lot of knocking on here.)

Whatever your motivations, Miesque and Gearoid, you are stars! Thanks. Btw, pedigree research sounds fascinating to me - not a bad way to spend the working hours. X-ray viewing??? Miesque, re Camelot do you know if the Beresford is in the picture?

    Dubai Prince

Thanks, Gearoid, for that very encouraging sight of Dubai Prince in work. I've checked on the RP website and have seen that DB has an entry in the Champion Stakes. Presumably if all is well now with him he'll have a prep race in the nearish future.

Galileo, I presume....nice to look forward to. Thanks for that, Miesque. Never could have expected such quick responses as yours and Gearoid's on another thread.

    Dubai Prince

Thanks for that, Gearoid, although I'm not sure it makes anything clearer. At least there's a chance he hasn't dropped out of the picture completely.

Is one of those Lillie Langtry, Miesque? If so, do you know which stallion covered her?

    Dubai Prince

I've just been on the Godolphin website - Dubai Prince is not on the (very long) list of Horses in Training. Have I missed something? Does anyone know what's happened to this promising colt?

Thanks, trackside. Oddly enough, I think your Apollo is a really good bet for the top spot. He looks very good to me - good luck. Maybe and possibly Was are very good, but I think as usual the colts will have a higher rating. The game is afoot!

    Nassau Stakes 30 July

13 still in at the 5-day stage. All the principals still there - Midday, Snow Fairy, Crystal Capella, Misty For Me, Banimpire. Plus two good Godolphin fillies Antara and Sajjhaa - and Principal Role, Theysken's Tehory, First City Barefoot Lady, Look At Me and Field Day. If they all turn up...

King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes 2011

Seven declared at 5-day stage including the supplemented Nathaniel. Saturday will likely have either five or six runners, but still what a race in prospect. Ryan Moore will be on Workforce if he runs (seems very likely now), and presumably Seamie Heffernan will keep the ride on Seville if he...

Good for trackside. I'm glad someone's got him.

Apollo looked very good in yesterday's Curragh maiden. Does anyone have him?

    Nassau Stakes 30 July

This race is beginning to look almost as exciting as the Frankel/Canford Cliffs clash in the Sussex. With Workforce looking increasingly likely to run in the King George, Midday will probably try for a third win in the Nassau where Snow Fairy is an intended runner. The news this morning from...

    Darley Irish Oaks 2011

Steve wrote: They will have pushed WoW hard in preparation for this and had Misty in there in case the wheels came off, they evidently haven't. The Oaks should be a good contest, but an even better one may be the Nassau. If this is Misty's next destination (10f her best distance probably), she...

Yeah! Not only a runner but a winner, and a very promising one at that. He could be good. Sorry, Sequoyah, that I pipped you to Camelot. Hope Skyphos is almost as good!

But a very expensive Montjeu with a great name entered in a July maiden! Crossing fingers that he runs this week, but my track record is against him. My choice last year never made the track as a 2 year old and hasn't won yet after at least a couple of starts as a 3 year old.

Please may I swap my previous choice - Highflying (Galileo ex Beauty Bright) for Camelot (Montjeu ex Tarfah). I see Camelot has entries this week in a couple of good maidens - some action soon!

King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes 2011

Agree with what you say about Rewilding, Euro, but, unlike you, I think Ascot might suit St. Nic. He's drifted right in both his last two races on left handed tracks, and as well as being right handed, Ascot has an uphill finish. Just how short is the straight - close to 3f isn't it? I like...
