I have fond memories of watching this wonderful horse with my father, got me interested in the game for the first time. He was a class act.

    Arse Cup

C4 has surpassed previous performances today. Thommo on Hurricane Higgins at Lingfield.... "and would'nt it be topical if Hurricane Higgins won with Alex Higgins dying a couple of years ago". Then Holt calls the wrong horse home until near the line in the Victoria Cup and Cattermole gets the...

    Today's Fancy

Cheers Gearoid. I've no complaints with B365. They are often best priced and price up earlier than most firms which is important to me as I often bet the night before as I cannot wager at work (outrageous!). They give loyalty bonus's too on a regular basis. This sounds like an advert now...

    Today's Fancy

Cheers for that Irish Stamp, never happened to me before, would have been worse had the horse won of course but in truth I would have not bothered at 7/2 and I went out after I placed the bet for the day so did not get the chance to cancel it. Did not go mad with the stake however so will put...

    Today's Fancy

got this message on my return to B365 web site, We are contacting you regarding bet ID EL68507831I placed at the odds of 16/1 on Somatic (Win and Each Way 3.35 Limerick). We have identified that this selection was placed at incorrect odds and as such, in accordance with our rules, will be...

B365 now gone 5/1 as I typed that but WH still 12/1.

    Today's Fancy

Not that i especially fancy the horse but there seems to be a big difference of opinion on Somatic from the layers today for the 3.35 Limerick. B365 have the horse at 16/1 and WH 12/1, others go a more conservative 7/2.

Is it time to dump the whip?

Best wishes dvds2000. I will not post. Hope I haven't laboured my point too much, I usually do I am afraid.

Is it time to dump the whip?

Well,I respect your point of View Shadow Leader and as a punter only I cannot comment on the training owning side. My view is not driven by my punting though tbh. I really feel I am flogging a dead horse trying to persuade you to my point of view though.. (come on some one had to say it!)

Is it time to dump the whip?

That is irrelavant to the central argument. The owners of 'cheated' horses also pay bills and endure the ups and downs, which currently include coming second to other competitors that have cheated.

Is it time to dump the whip?

I don't think you are, and have never said you are stupid G-G.

Is it time to dump the whip?

Since I am making the rules now I will add one that the Jockeys forfeits his fee in this situation. Interesting subject though, made me think about it. I will shut up now, like I said about ten posts ago, I am not qualified to talk on this subject!

Is it time to dump the whip?

G-G, it seems to me you are missing the central point of mine and I presume to say Songsheet's argument. Surely the connections of horses who come second to a winning horse whose rider has broken the rules thus gaining an unfair advantage are being cheated out of prize money, they are after all...

Is it time to dump the whip?

But aren't you punishing owners of horses whose jockeys have stuck to the rules Krizon? It seems clear to me. At the moment you can break the rules, gain an advantage yet keep the spoils. Of course owners etc. of horses disqualified would fell they were not responsible but that is not the...

Is it time to dump the whip?

I accept your point Shadow Leader and I don't want to see the whip banned. But if it is agreed that use of a whip can make a horse run faster or try harder and that over use of it, breaking the rules as they stand, gives an unfair advantage to a horse and it's connections over a horse ridden...

Is it time to dump the whip?

The disqualification of a horse because the jockey broke the rules regarding use of the whip may or may not be ludicrous depending on your opinion but it is perfectly easily implemented. If they are inconsistently applied that is a separate question and it does not mean it is a bad rule. To...

The road to The Grand national 2012

I can see Trevor Hemming's having the winner again in the shape of King Fontaine this time.
