The Official Constitution Hill Thread 2025/26

I actually like the guy - he rode a horse for me once and finished second on her at Newton Abbot. He gushed then - I think he's just a very gushy person. But he was very complimentary about her so obviously got brownie points.

The remaining November Meeting races at Cheltenham

Another but this is on Sunday in the first (1.15) Soldier Reeves - another Skelton inmate. I flagged it up here after I went to Newton Abbot and it was beaten in the bumper. It totally shouldn't have been as 'Arry anchored it out the back but got zero run up the short straight and ended up...

The remaining November Meeting races at Cheltenham

I'll just keep chatting to myself then.... 😁 (obviously when the decs are made you'll all pile in...) Couple I have spotted so far in the fact that they are both ex-pointers who'd had one nice win under Rules but then went to the Festival and it was probably a bit soon for them so...

I think Fitzy is always going to gush about the horse. I'm sure his work is as good as before but I doubt I will ever watch him run again simply as I don't want to watch to see if he does the same again. He will have been schooled and schooled and schooled again but I think he's been lucky the...

The 2025 Paddy Power Gold Cup (Handicap Chase)

Just a little to add on Panic Attack - SHE is a mare (hence winning a Mares hurdle at Cheltenham which was a good performance). She's also obviously had a leg problem as she has a gap of 649 days before moving yards to Dan Skelton's. Normally I avoid those who have had problems but if you are...

The remaining November Meeting races at Cheltenham

Because I couldn't find a thread (which was a surprise) unless I am being dim... Anyone else fancy anything? I am drawn towards Hamsiyann in the Paddy Power International Hurdle on the Saturday (3.30) Won this last year easily (2-1fav) Hasn't won since Went to Aintree and got badly hampered...

    Jockey News

A good article I thought: https://www.racingpost.com/news/britain/meet-the-ambitious-conditional-rider-who-has-followed-in-tony-mccoys-famous-footsteps-aOqPW2Y7XEfK/ I realised I flagged Rian up this time last year although I had spotted him the season before when I got one of those "Hello"...

The 2025 Paddy Power Gold Cup (Handicap Chase)

Just checked the Met office forecast which theoretically should be the most accurate. There's a bit of rain but not huge amounts until Friday - possibly. Bearing in mind the woeful fields due to ground on the firmer side, I think the ground should be find on Saturday - prob good to soft at the...

The 2025 Paddy Power Gold Cup (Handicap Chase)

Based on my theory of Skelton keeping in the top weight (which hasn't) I completely ignored Panic Attack currently only 7s (God I can't half be blonde at times!). But 'Arry has sided with this one with Tristan Durrell claiming 3lbs off the 10.13 that Riskintheground now has. Panic Attack now on...

The 2025 Paddy Power Gold Cup (Handicap Chase)

You do you then. I thought it may well have been an angle that not every person had considered. Some courses do indeed suit front runners while some don't just as going changes can influence that too.

This is an interesting read and he makes a good point - plus he likes your Bad https://www.racingpost.com/news/the-front-runner/the-importance-of-being-eager-why-it-could-pay-to-follow-front-runners-in-saturdays-paddy-power-gold-cup-at-cheltenham-aIQ5L1Y7g9kI/

    My notebook runners

I missed Our Boy Stan's race as the internet was sticky. Read the report and it sounded like he had a few jumping issues. He is a big horse though and his future may lie over fences.

She was at Wincanton yesterday flogging the headbands so maybe there was an extra need for decoration.

Ones that have had a glaringly obvious "strange" ride...

Absolutely not everything is a plot. But the trainer's job is to win races for the owner (not the punter) and if the horse is too high in the handicap to win off it's current mark, then matters are taken in hand.

Oh I meant to put Our Boy Stan in my Ten to Follow! I really liked him last year.

The 2025 Paddy Power Gold Cup (Handicap Chase)

Just a quick glance but if Skelton's keep Protektorat in on top weight, then that leaves Riskintheground on a very attractive 10st5 - he's a course winner plus he comes here off the back of a nice victory over Blue King d'Oroux last time, setting him up nicely. Currently 16s.
