Point Blank: ‘The Lads’ Have a Ryan Moore Problem

Would you say those rides are where him and Ryan are in the same race?

Point Blank: ‘The Lads’ Have a Ryan Moore Problem

Going forward I think Loughnane will get more shots at a higher level cos interestingly in 2024 he rode in 30 group races and won or placed in 11 of them, then in 2025 so far he's rode in 29 group races and and won or placed in 9 of them The numbers back up Slim's point that Lordan is no sub...

Point Blank: ‘The Lads’ Have a Ryan Moore Problem

Meh, Loughnane has been riding really well the last 6 months and was champion AW jockey 24/25, I'd just be happy to see a young lad like that get a shot at the top class races.

Point Blank: ‘The Lads’ Have a Ryan Moore Problem

Following on from reading Slim's substack I've been having a ponder on who should Ballydoyle look to while stable jockey Ryan Moore is out of action? Those who get upset by spreadsheets look away now....... ;) Given that their second stable jockey Wayne Lordan is facing a 10-day ban this is...

Point Blank: The Cost Of Being Right

I have much the same view re "pundits" & fantasy prices, if they aren't showing a profit at prices that much over bsp then there's something wrong

Point Blank: The Cost Of Being Right

Me I bet cos I enjoy the mental exercise of the analysis etc but if you have skills there are far easier ways to make a living, especially if want anything above min wage/holiday money betting profits. I admit I'm a bit ocd with records but I understand the view of you are either in plus or...

Point Blank: The Cost Of Being Right

I see that Cobb guy is seeing his time out as an associate editor at the RP. I do laugh when the RP trumpets such & such having a big priced winner last weekend or whatever but neglects to mention how many losers that is against.

Point Blank: The Cost Of Being Right

Those in the racing media are journalists first & foremost. Making a profit & what one would consider a living are not the same. Unless you have a consistently huge roi%, even to make the uk avg wage takes a big turnover of money & stake levels not everyone wants to work at.

Point Blank: The Cost Of Being Right

Me I'll look at something , if I like it & view it as useful I'll use it if I don't I won't , I don't have time or inclination or give a toss to argue about info people should or shouldn't be using

Point Blank: The Cost Of Being Right

I don't knock anything that works for people or how they enjoy looking at racing, one man's meat & all that. Imo if people are smart they'll take on the useful bits of any approach & not be dismissive just cos its outside their skillset.

Just when you think the BHA can't get any more stupid and deluded.....

I'm not one for monopolies, state or other, so I wouldn't want tote only like some countries. But I would like to see the tote owned by racing & become an exchange instead with no api or bots & a 2% take out as per the lowest exchange commission, with all the profits going back into racing...

Just when you think the BHA can't get any more stupid and deluded.....

If someone was setting up such a real bookie I'd invest, only takes money & a williness to go against the current 'norm'. I quoted £250 take out as a realistic starting point but I know what you mean, I was with my dad at the York Ebor meeting in the mid 80s when he'd gone to avoid betting tax...

Eventually he'll scam the wrong person who will extract his toe nails if they can't extract their money from him

Just when you think the BHA can't get any more stupid and deluded.....

If I had the money to risk, as a big fk u, I'd set up a horse racing bookie with a team of my own odds compilers, who would have to keep proving themselves to keep their jobs, I've worked under those conditions & I know it keeps people sharp. As a starting pouint, no bots, no restrictions, take...
