The 2025 December Gold Cup Handicap Chase

He's quite a leggy horse that I imagine takes a bit of balancing over a fence and to get that stride spot on. Wouldn't be every one's ride.

The 2025 December Gold Cup Handicap Chase

Interestingly she has very little online presence bar the obvious racing pages. No website for a start which is strange for a trainer starting off these days because surely you need to be capitalising on your successes? And marketing the cr*p out of them. So that does make me wonder - I sound...

The 2025 December Gold Cup Handicap Chase

This lady can train horses! Or is she a name on the licence for AP? (happy to be informed!) I thought that her Winston Junior in the first was one to stick in the tracker for the Boodles.

    The Will Win Thread

I'm pretty much the same in that I only use my own judgement. Occasionally it works, invariably it doesn't. Until fairly recently it was rare that I had enough confidence in myself to actually post anything I fancied - I've always suffered hugely from impostor syndrome in pretty much everything...

Hong Kong Racing - Horse Race Analysis, Tips, Predictions & Live Races For Sha Tin & Happy Valley

My friend Nick Child is one of the commentators/broadcasters out in Hong Kong. No idea if he's calling these races but he's done so well for himself. A great commentator, he used to do lots of point to points in the South West combining this at weekends with his day job - which was looking after...

The 2025 December Gold Cup Handicap Chase

Of course we are overthinking - isn't that to be expected on here?

The 2025 December Gold Cup Handicap Chase

I backed this last time and he ran a nice race. As you say the price is plenty short enough but he's massively unexposed. Could be anything....just the sort I like ;) I'm also going back with Il Ridoto. He needs this quicker ground and he's back down on 141 which is the same mark he was on when...

    Cross Country Cheltenham

I imagine they will have had a really good look round it. It did look bad when they came around after the Aintree fence but I guess it depends how the fences are situated as to whether they are in fill glare. I drove up my road this time yesterday and couldn't actually see the road. If anyone...

    The 2025 Longshot Thread

I have a friend who I sometimes go racing with who absolutely insists on only backing long shots - "to get the value!" So he nearly always loses and then doesn't understand why I'm happy backing three or four winners at shortish prices but for me it's about the buzz not the profit. He recently...

What are you backing Today? Part 2

Just not good enough in what I think was a pretty deep contest - the winner is exceptionally nice and has a huge chance in the Supreme off that plus he's big enough to go chasing.

Novice & Maiden Hurdlers 2025-2026 - Who Might Step Up?

Damn! Our Park Star looks like he's Hendo's latest star novice. THAT was very impressive - Altioresque for me and the field looked nice physically and on paper.

    Trainer news

Yes I saw this as Gordon sent it to me. Not a nice character as I alluded to earlier in this thread. I have first hand experience of him gesticulating at me and asking if I'd like to try out his huge c*ck as he grabbed it whilst standing next to the bookies at Larkhill. Strangely I declined...

What are you backing Today? Part 2

I did a Trixie, the first of which won (Knock Off Sox) and the other two, one fell and the other, Just A Rose ran a Meh sort of race. Did I back the first one individually? Did I hell...!

The 2025 December Gold Cup Handicap Chase

I'd like to think that I would walk gracefully away to go and study the runners for the next in the paddock....

The 2025 December Gold Cup Handicap Chase

You're not wrong there - Chads is prime red trouser land! There will be a lot of braying going on behind car boots. We're not like that down here in the West Country so much - you can drive a tractor into my town, park up on the double yellow lines and pop into the Co-op in a pair of wellies...

What are you backing Today? Part 2

Quietly liking Just A Rose at Taunton 2.35. She won a point nicely for Tom Ellis and then went for a bit of money to Paul Nicholls. She absolutely pissed in at Taunton on her yard debut and then went to the Festival where she ran flat. She's had a wind op and I think is very unexposed.

Ante Post jumps discussion thread 2025/26

Jonjo's team are always about to turn the corner, which they do..and then they veer off to the right, and then left and then plough straight through the wide blue yonder as they are so effing confused as to whether they are on or off on any one day.
