    Todays Racing -----England--Ireland

Not so much of a confident day today and rapid ground changes make me far more cautious. I've picked out a few though: Newbury Brave Kingdom (Course winner, had a wind op and Nicholls also keeping his weight down with another on top weight) Tutti Quanti - very positive write up in the Stable...

The 2025 Coral Gold Cup (Handicap Chase)

I have to say it's as difficult a race to work out that I have looked at in a while. And the rain is not helping either. I did like Panic Attack for Cheltenham but I think that was her target and I have stamina doubts with her in this especially as the softening ground (was it really only 2...

I only looked at the card after Danny asked me what I fancied today..... Did he back them? Did he hell.... Why DO I bother?

Thanks - but to be honest it was a pretty easy picking day! Disappointed that Regents Stroll let himself down - he's top class if he chills. Punctuation too ran a flat race as though they were just going through the motions. Katie O'Riley didn't really progress as I'd hoped and may need a stiff...

I'm not 'Arry's biggest fan to be honest but I don't think you will split them up in a hurry

A fair run but suspect he could possibly do with some tweaking to his wind. They already run him in a tongue tie so for me it's the obvious thing to do next. Just listened to Cobden who was very disappointed with Regents Stroll - said he thinks the ring bit will go back on. Amazed they took it...

That was a shame that Regents took off like a scalded cat. To his credit he did keep on under a tender ride latter stages (sensibly from a mental point of view for the horse) and I dearly wish they can get him to settle as he's got an engine. Maybe stick the hood back on.

Novice & Maiden Hurdlers 2025-2026 - Who Might Step Up?

Thought Nice One Eric ran ok for a long way on his hurdling debut. This was quite a deep race to throw him in first time but the yard doesn't shy away from that and I'd expect him to finish a lot closer next time.

So I've had a little mooch over today's card at Newbury and here are a few thoughts: Act of Innocence - think this could be a very nice horse and Hendo likes this race. Nice One Eric ew (as I think the Bens don' tilt at windmills - Our Boy Stan for instance) Mambonumberfive - liked this a lot...

Well I love Golden Ace. She's tough, genuine and deserves her glorious CV! Plus she's trained by a total legend who happily dressed up in a green tutu, singlet and tights when he appeared as Fairy Liquid, the narrator, in a Pantomime I put on (need to dig out a photo). How many other trainers...

I've just hit a reasonable run atm. It can easily go the other way. But I've had a good spell pointing too so long may it continue :cheerleader:

Not the worst day - he didn't end up going as he thought it might rain (it was a little drizzly) Anyway results were: First race 1-2 (no I didn't do the forecast...duh! Second was 25-1) Second race dead heat for 3rd Third race - won (6-1) Fourth race - 3rd (thought she had him too far back as...

The closing date was 1st December - I see it's now been pushed out a week. I would have applied but it would have meant sacrificing my other two roles within the sport both of which I'd rather do instead.

Such a shame. I used to love going to Horseheath when I lived in Newmarket. Always excellent racing and the viewing is great.

Except Golden Ace does have to put that last very disappointing run behind her. She looked an absolute picture in the paddock and was bucking before the race with exhuberance but rain like a complete drain. Subsequently scoped dirty on course but back home she was OK. Not sure what to make of...
