Below is a list of sires that will be having their first runners in 2020. The comments are only my opinion and they refer to the sires chances of being Champion First Season Sire i.e. most races won.

A winner on 2-y-o debut over 6f. at Newbury in May. As a 3-y-o winner of 7f. Group 2 Hungerford also at Newbury. His own precocity and the fact that he is likely to have plenty of runners bode well for him.

Didn’t see a racecourse until the October of his 2-y-o year but won on his second outing two weeks later over 7f. at Leopardstown. Winner of the 2016 Irish 2000 Guineas on Yielding ground. Likely to be well represented but his offspring might need a little time.
BELARDO Lope De Vega - Danaskaya (Danehill)

Won on his racecourse debut over 6f. at York in June going on to take the Group 1 Dewhurst on Soft ground. As a 4-y-o won the Group 1 Lockinge. Should have plenty of runners and has to be considered.

Second on 2-y-o debut over extended mile went one better over the same distance second time up. As a 3-y-o beat No Nay Never to take the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint over 6.5f on Good ground at Santa Anita. Finished his racing career with a win in a Listed event at Cork 6f. Heavy. Might not have enough runners.
BURATINO Exceed and Excel - Bergamask (Kingmambo)

Winner on his 2-y-o debut at 5f. Chelmsford in March. Best performance when second beaten half a length by Shalaa in the Group 1 Middle Park at Newmarket. Bit disappointing afterwards, best a fourth in the Sandy Lane over 6f. Good at Haydock. His stock should certainly be sharp and he should have plenty of runners.
CHARMING THOUGHT Oasis Dream - Annabelle’s Charm (Indian Ridge)

Did well at two, second on debut in August, won second time out (6f. Good to Firm) went on to beat hot favourite Ivawood to take the Group 1 Middle Park. Didn’t run at three, moderate efforts at four. Offspring should be sharp enough.

Did well at 2, second on debut, won at Newbury 6.5 G/F on his second run, won Group 2 7f. Superlative(Newmarket) and Group 2 7f. Champagne(Doncaster). As a 3-y-o placed second in Group 3 Geenham Newbury 7f. G/F and finished his career winning the Listed Ben Marshall 8f. G/F as a 4-y-o.

Unplaced on his only run as a 2-y-o. At three won 10f. maiden at Leopardstown 10f. Soft/Heavy on debut in March and followed up in April winning a 10f. Group 3 at Navan on soft. As a 4-y-o ran second to Al Kazeem in 10f. Group 1 Tatts Gold Cup before winning the Group 1 Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot 10f. Good to Soft. The following year went one better to win the Tatts Gold Cup at The Curragh. His progeny are likely to need some time.

Won 3 from 8 as a 2-y-o, won Group 3 5.5f. Maisons-Lafitte (good) as a 3-y-o and was third in King’s Stand at Ascot (5f. Soft) as a 4-y-o. Unlikely to have many runners here.
HARZAND Sea The Stars - Hazariya (Xaar)

Unplaced on his only run as a 2-y-o. Won 10f. Heavy Maiden at Cork on his 3-y-o debut. Three weeks later won the Group 3 Ballysax at Leopardstown 10f. Heavy. Won the Derby on Good to
Soft and Irish Derby on Good to Yielding. Disappointing in last two runs, retired to stud. Plenty of class but his progeny may need a little time.

Got off the mark at his third attempt, runner up in 2014 Dewhurst Newmarket 7f. Soft. At three an impressive winner of a Group 3 at Salisbury 8f. Good. As a 4-y-o failed to place in 3 Group 1 and 1 Group 2. Should have plenty of ammunition.

His only run as a 2-y-o didn’t come until November when he finished 2nd. over 8f. Chantilly. Had a good 3-y-o career winning Group 1 Prix du Jockey Club 10.5 G/S Chantilly, Group 2 Prix Niel Longchamp 12f. Very Soft and finishing third to Golden Horn in the Arc. You would think his offspring would need some time.
PEARLSECRET Compton Place - Our Little Secret (Rossini)

Won on his 2-y-o debut at York in October a Maiden over 5.5f. on good ground. As a 3-y-o won at long odds-on at Sandown in the Listed 5f. Scurry Stakes on Soft ground. Third to Sole Power in the 2013 King’s Stand on Good ground. In 2014 was second in Temple at Haydock 5f. Soft and as a
6-y-o won that same race on Good ground. Unlikely to have enough runners to be considered for this but was a speedy racehorse.

Winner of 6f.(Good) Group 1 at Caulfield (Aus) standing at Coolmore and has been reported to be popular with breeders and should be well represented.

Won on his 2-y-o debut at Hanover in September 8f. Good. As a 4-y-o won the Group 1 Melbourne Cup.Offspring unlikely to be precocious.

Very good at two winning Group 2 July Stakes, Group 2 Richmond, Group 1 Prix Morny and Group 1 Middle Park all over 6f. Not seen as a 3-y-o until October when winning Group 3 Bengough at Ascot. Finished his racing career rather disappointingly when 10th. of 13 when joint-favourite for the 6f. Sipco Champion Sprint at Ascot. If he has enough runners could well be among the front-runners for Champion First Season Sire.
TERRITORIES Invincible Spirit - Toronto (Machiavellian)

As a 2-y-o finished second to Gleneagles in a Group 1 at Longchamp 7f. Good. Ran second to Gleneagles (again) in 2015 2000 Guineas. Won Group 1 Jean Prat over a mile at Chantilly. His progeny should do well but might be lacking a little in precocity.

Won Brocklesby on racecourse debut, placed second in Norfolk at Royal Ascot and finished his racing career by taking the Middle Park at 25/1. His youngsters should have plenty of speed.
