2014 David Nicholson Mares Handicap Hurdle?

I'd imagine he'd be pot hunting for black-type again with her - there's plenty of Mares hurdles in Ireland for her without taking on Quevega at Cheltenham and then there's a Graded hurdle at Punchestown for her that he won with Tarla on her first outing in Ireland :)
Cheers! I think she's a really good mare and will be keeping my beady eye on her movements.

What kinda daft question is that? Are we talking about championship races at Cheltenham or not?

Arkle had he not been injured could have won gawd only knows how many gold cups, most likely at least 6 taking it free from injury he would have retired at 12 years of age. If that had been the case should we have therefore made the Gold Cup a handicap?

Every championship race on the planet worth it's salt is run off level weights which is the only way to decide a real champion.

Just how many Quevega's do you think you get to the pound? When she"s gone like Big Buck's in this years World Hurdle the race suddenly will become wide open again.

Daft? Have you read your own additions to the thread?

Just to help you out as it appears a concept you don't understand both the Gold Cup and World Hurdle are not restricted races and as such are totally irrelevant to this topic.

No matter how you try and dress it up you are trying to do away with the Mares Championship which is a silly idea and your peeing against the wind because it will NEVER happen.

Once you put that handle "handicap" on a race it loses it's appeal as a top quality race.

Races don't have to be competitive to be interesting. You stick a horse like Quevega in a mares race at Hexam off level weights and the gate will double.

The first thoughts that comes into someone's head when you mention Cheltenham are for the Arkle's Istabraq's Big Bucks Kauto Star's Sprinter Sacre's and Quevega's it's They are the main draw and no one gives a hoot if they go off at 1/10.

All real racing fans want to be able to say is I was there and saw the best.

I have seen no sign of racegoers being bored by Quevega's 4 DN wins when at the track . Indeed she has been the saviour of many a punter including on at least two occasions me !
