2016 Ayr Gold Cup

I lost my 2pts win ante-post bet on Magnus Maximus. That's a hefty loss without a run for my money. I don't often go in as heavily as that on the day let alone ante-post.

That said, I thought the winner was value for at least his margin of success. Anyone with access to the replay should check his head carriage compared with the others. This horse wanted to win. I'm not convinced MM would have beaten him from a favourable draw but I haven't done my figures for the race as yet.

I share your pain. Several alerts on my phone were screaming at me to back Brando but I managed to steadfastly ignore them all. Not a total disaster as picked up some each way money with G Force but it could easily have been much better
