As if further evidence were needed that I'm the saddest bloke in the known universe, I've spent the last few days compiling this at-a-glance list.

What the actual F is wrong with me - I don't even "Go Pointing" any more! 😂

But I do still bet on Hunters' Chases, so I retain an (at times frankly morbid - the worst-run sport on the planet is slowly, but surely, dying on its arse) interest in the subject.

I couldn't begin to care which bunch of local wildlife stalkers are organising any of these fixtures, so I actually treat it like proper horse racing (which tbf it absolutely is) and list it by date and actual VENUE.

Enjoy!

I'm here to answer all questions about all this to prospective first-time "Go Pointing" racegoers.

FAQs so far.....

Q: Do I have to bring a dead fox to a meeting as evidence of my support for the history, dating back centuries, of the activity behind the event?

A: AFAIK, no.

Q: Do I have to wear "hunting pinks" (even though they appear to be red)?

A: Again, afaik, no.

Q: Do I nevertheless have to wear a funny hat?

A: You appear to be confusing a Point with a Gandalf-themed costume party, so no.

I will fabricate other questions I haven't actually been asked as the mood takes me.

More to follow....

Is there any chance that the next batch could be even mildly amusing ?

Just 42 days until Knightwick where Gracchus De Balme's trainer last season says the Aintree winner will be making his seasonal debut.

Knightwick and Lower Machen are a couple of cracking, spectactor friendly, venues with character to start the season off with.

I know you will not read this but I don’t think he will be at Knightwick 😉……..because ……..

Not the best start as the opening fixture at Knightwick has already been called off.

And then there were 126....

Joe O'Shea, who trained the horse to win the Aintree Foxhunters' then follow up in spectacular style over further at Stratford, says, contrary to reports the beast is to winter with Paul Nicholls and run in the Grand Sefton then Becher at Aintrer, that Gracchus De Balme is still with him and runs at Lower Machen.

This is a treat for racegoers, but a word of caution; it's a fair old trek from Nantwich to Lower Machen, one or two of Joe's don't always travel too well and I once saw Joe's other Aintree winner Cousin Pascal get turned over at Charing in Kent at long odds-on.

Just realised we might be able to go to Alnwick on 13 Dec if the weathers ok. We’re usually in the wrong place at the wrong time. Haven’t been to it for years.

Usually good racing there Maureen ……..look out for any that the Ellis’s or Kelly Morgan send up there 😎

Joe says he forgot to enter Gracchus De Balme at Lower Machen.

Just read on "X" that Gb Pointing has secured a weekly slot on

Racing TV starting tomorrow 8th November !!!!

Well done to Gb Pointing

They absolutely fly round Lower Machen - sounds like a lot of effort has been made to not only resurrect it, but create a better owner and racegoer raceday experience. They deserve to succeed: PREVIEW: Wales Area Club at Lower Machen (Sunday 9th November) - GB Pointing
I appreciate that interest in Pointing is going to be limited on what is a mainstream racing forum (that's why I put this thread in Chit Chat), but I'll be keeping an eye out for horses today and in future weeks that might go on to do something under rules.

St Cuthbert's Cave is of interest to me today if he runs, but there may be others on the card.

St Cuthbert's Cave is of interest to me today
I'm hearing St Cuthbert's Cave just won the Men's Open at Lower Machen - as night follows day, they improve their marks and stay further for the Nantwich Mourinho than for anyone else.

Looking forward to seeing this one in a Hunters' Chase

I got some really good feedback about Lower Machen last week.

The best Point/Hunters' Chase punter I know went and said they'd done a great job on the track, the crowd was huge, field sizes were decent and the betting ring was competitive.

Tbh, I think Badbury Rings might struggle for runners this afternoon - only 33 in total have been entered but, as it's the only UK Point meeting today, hopefully all 33 will run.

Not my favourite venue if I'm honest, long home straight is very head on and there are other Point venues in the area - and nationally - that I like more.

But the food there has always been nice, as a photo that cropped up on my Facebook memories this morning hopefully attests....
