2025 County (Handicap) Hurdle

Yes, I suspected Kargese would find 10lbs which put her second top but, as I said, 7/2 was skinny considering my figure for Valgrand and he never ran near that.

I got a place return from the second, which covered a couple of the longshot bets, and it was in my placepot but I'm down a bit on the race but I don't mind so long as the figures are doing okay.

Valgrand and Our Champ for me too. Agree Valgrand looks like he’s been laid out for this and the last two efforts look very half-hearted. Maybe Skelton hatched a plot for this race after the horse was firmly put in his place by Potters Charm following his earlier demolition job at Cheltenham in October

Once again following Our Champ over a cliff and like you I missed the price as he’s been backed in to 25s this morning from 40s overnight
Hope you did your ew's on Sky, you lads. Short for time this morning and just did a quick bet ew Our Champ as I left the house. Unforch, 365 only paid 5 places; if I'd done him on Sky, they paid to 6th. Got a good ride, too, don't you think?

Can see why Absurde will never match his Flat form over hurdles good as he is - put the brakes on approaching the last possibly cost second

Depressing only five GB runners - wonder whether allowing novices that win one of the big handicap hurdles an exemption might help . Also in recent years I have thought they should consider stopping the Newbury and Sandown weekends - 13 days recovery from the Imperial Cup would be more feasible.

Unfortunately not. I was so disgusted that I’d missed the 40s that I took 25s with Bet365 whereas Sky were only going 16s. A great ride from Freddie but disappointing the horse let Spirit d’Aunou by after I thought he’d got the better of that one

Very poor run by Valgrand
