Mozart, a male iguana at Aquatopia near Antwerp, is the victim of a permanent erection after a coupling with one of his female companions, on account of impureties which have prevented him from retracting his organ. At least one of his female companions, Truus, Pepina and Bianca, is thought likely to be pregnant. The directors of the aquarium have placed Mozart in quarantine where he is being well looked after. His enclosure has been given a surface of damp cloth in order to irritate his penis as little as possible. His penis has also been cleaned and covered with soothing lotion. If the erection continues for too long the only solution left will be amputation. But this might not be as damaging a step as it sounds for Mozart's marriage prospects, because it so happens that iguanas have two penises.
