A Warning To All Forum Photographers

Before it disappears, because it may do, anyone who cares to look at a thread called "Belated Cheltenham Photos" on the BBC Horseracing Fivelive Messageboard will find links to most, if not all, of Diminuendo's Cheltenham photos. These links have been posted, without reference to Diminuendo, by someone going under the name of Jejquade ..
 
I have had that problem too . Have you used the report this message function Diminuendo to ask for the immediate removal ?

Jejquade was of course banned from this forum under to separate identities but is now known as Louise .
 
I have just sent a complaint. Had to join the forum before I could do this. I was only saying to Uncle Goober the other day that this could happen. I guess they will be all over the place by now and I give it two weeks before they start to appear on ebay. :angy:
 
you should watermark them if you are posting them or even just stick a little © at the bottom of each photo :)
 
Notwithstanding Col it is an outrageous thing for a member of this forum to have done
 
She states that she got them from another forum, but I thought she was abanned member, and apart from one photo the rest have only been posted on here.
 
She's over on Final Furlong these days as 'Louise', she's been on here as 'Joanna', too. Disgraceful and very unsporting behaviour, but unfortunately not entirely surprising.

This post is full of photo's that have been stolen from my forum, from one of my members. The copyright belongs to that member on my forum and as such should not be reproduced on here.

As I am sure you are aware copyright laws are very specific and by hosting these photograph's the BBC is leaving itself open to legal action by the copyright holder.

I complained too !

The thread has disappeared if you go to the BBC site but can be seen still through the link Gareth put up so i shall copy that to Mods only and edit Gareth's posting
 
Thanks Col, I have had a reply to say that they will be in touch as soon as possible. In the meantime I think the thread has been hidden until they have sorted it. Sorry for the problems. I have the latest photoshop and will watermark and copyright in future. I suppose it goes to show that my pics are worthy of viewing on the BBC. :lol:
 
Not a lot you can do unless as COL says you need to copyright any photo's you don’t wish others to use.................

I don’t have that problem with mine of recent years?????????? Only a few of the front garden etc………… :rolleyes:

A big thank you guys for helping me with this. Thank You Muttley for discovering the problem. Please let me know if you recognise any of my pics floating around on the net.
As said before, the photoshop software is going to be used to stop this problem from re-occuring.
 
Message 15 on the BBC site: Joanna/jejquade/Louise says "Yeah taken by someone I know off another forum" which implies that she knows Diminuendo well enough to have asked her permission to post the photos, which is quite wrong. She has not credited this forum, Diminuendo as the photographer, or asked for permission to copy them before doing so.

A warning to us all to copyright any article we've written, any story we put up on here that's ours, and certainly any video or photo that is our own work, so that others don't begin claiming a right to reproduce them.
 
Merlin, we only have your word that the collection of hanging baskets is your garden - to me it looks like a rather over-enthusiastic pub front! :o
 
My Lester Piggott article that I wrote has been hijacked and plagiarism taken place but yes I never copyrighted it either!! So in hindsight if your wanting to safeguard anything!!! well it needs to be copyrighted.............

Some jokes I have wrote also I have not copyrighted…………..but on second thoughts that’s difficult I suppose! but I could add my name and get the credits for them????…… :)
