Favourites day today? The first 4 favourites look pretty solid, as does Captain Cee Bee, anyone fancy anything else?

Let's have your analysis again Rory, not far wide of the mark yesterday :)

I haven't had a proper look, but Starzaan @ 12/1 E/W in a field of eight looks interesting.

The results at Aintree today are as follows.

Albertas Run
Souffler
Master Minded
Gwanako (NAP)
Captain Cee Bee
Oedipe
Maisy Daisy

Cedrus Libani for me in the Mildmay - remember we had a prolonged discussion on here back in November after he won at Carlisle, been saved for this race and hopefully will stay the trip. 20/1 seems more than fair for him.

I also like Starzaan, Oedipe and Gwanako. Think the first 2 favourites are opposable and not entirely sure Master Minded is a 2/7 shot over this trip and 3 weeks after Cheltenham.

Tazbar is my banker of the week. He has been kept for this, an advantage underlined by Elusive Dream's win yesterday, because his trainer doesn't like running young horses at the Cheltenham festival. Tazbar also happens to have the best form in the race. I see Souffleur as the main danger.

I can't oppose Alberta's Run, Master Minded and Captain Cee Bee in their respective races, but I won't be having a bet other than a small accumulator for the sake of an interest. I don't like banking on Cheltenham form being reproduced at this meeting.

I've also gone for a highly speculative reverse forecast for small money on Mister Top Notch and State of Play.

Roll Along, Blue Bajan, Theatre Night & Boychuk in an Each Way (Un)lucky 15

Adding in Souffleur in a lucky 31.

Also done a win treb, Master Minded, Captain Cee Bee & Bahamian Babe

If Starzaan had won I may well be retiring before 30...

:) He certainly hasn't turned out like I hoped pre-Cheltenham. Thought he was worth another chance on a track which i thought should have suited more. Clearly not!
