Alex Bird

Following on from comments in the Findlay thread I thought I would read up a bit about the legendary Alex Bird.
I bought a book from Amazon that he wote in the 80's in conjunction with Terry Manners for about £3. Without giving a complete review, as I have not finished it yet, I'm not too impressed.
Has anyone else read it or anything similar?

I read his book recently having first read it 20 years ago.I don't doubt that he was a good punter but I would love to read an unauthorized biography.

Seeing as you can't libel the dead I will say that I suspect criminal connections at some stage of his life and I find the whole photo finish thing literally unbelieveable.Supposedly won fortunes on horses that had won by necks in tight photos.

A lot of it just does not add up does it? It's simply not possible to win that much that often, especially in the 50's.

The book is unconvincing.
