3/1/26 - Wolverhampton 18:00

I’ve had an EW bet @ 14/1 on NO RETURN in the Wolves 18:00.

He’s a 4 year old gelding by Kodiac so there is speed in the pedigree and open to improvement.

What I like. He’s drawn in 2 and he’s got some early speed. Stall 1,3 and 4 all have horses that are closers. The only other horses that have shown early speed are DYRHOLAEY drawn in 5 and MANY A STAR drawn in 7. The pace map suggests No Return should have no difficulty getting to the front or in a good strong prominent position behind one of the others who like to go forwards. His FSP% ( Final Speed Percentage ) for his last 2 runs are (105.36, 104.14) This proves he still running through the line which will be needed tonight.

He’s got to fend off some strong closers such as Betsen, Coachello Cajetan. I think at the price and how I envisage the race to. If No Return breaks fast and gets a good lead or position then he could well win or place. Coachello for me is a big danger. Betsen ran really well at Southwell but not so good LTO at Newcastle. Not sure how Wolverhampton will suit but Rossa Ryan rides today which is a big positive.

It’s going to be fast and furious.

This could be a good thread. Reet Hard is another all weather worshipper on the forum. I'll be following along with interest.

Hi Dave.

Can I offer a suggestion?

Rather than a thread for individual races, could you consider dedicating [maybe this] one thread for all you forthcoming selections?

This thread could, for example be re-titled "Dave's AW 2026 *Selections / Tips / Fancies / Thoughts" (delete accoringly).

[Gigilo's 'Daily Picks' thread for example.]

There have been recent comments about some threads cluttering up an already cluttered forum (while respecting the reason for their being put up) so in a sense less might be more.

Good luck.

Yes. You can edit the title. Far better to have all your thoughts on one place.

Wolverhampton 6.00

Betsen is in my tracker after his Southwell win. I could forgive Frankel for getting beat at Newcastle. Is there any pace in this race to set it up for him?

Yeah, I think that’s the best way forwards. I’ll see if I can retitle it.

The inside ground near the rail looks dead tonight due to all the rain. No excuse for NO RETURN he broke well as did the other early pace horses DYRHOLAEY drawn in 5 and MANY A STAR drawn in 7. It would appear the ground up the middle is better. MANY A STAR won well with DYRHOLAEY finishing 2nd.

It was always going to be about pace and position. I backed the wrong one.
