Am I Of This World?

Then may I tediously suggest, Desert Awkward, that you signal to whom you are responding by including their name in your reply? In that way, the nitpicking will be done by the appropriate person and not by someone who also feels that their postings are constantly shredded by you. You have some brass neck talking about my nitpicking, when we review your pedantic history. (Snorts with derision.)

HT: I was referring to AC's curmudgeonly view of 'the world'. I would never link you and 'charity' in the same thought, HT, since most of your expressions on this forum have been singularly uncharitable.

Always to deserving causes though.

I am also sick of celebrities using the "charity"cover to get on TV.

Self-serving egoistical self-promoters the lot of them.
beckham of ocurse does not need a charity cover to get on tv.
i suspect he gets on tv more often than he likes, with or without charity.

Bar, Tom and Des Orc, et al - thanks for the interesting and thoughtful inputs to my conundrum. I am not alone in being off beat with this stuff, thankfully.

I didn't get past Krizon's first line. Did I miss anything interesting?

AC - if you want a cosy clique of yea-sayers, then don't ask questions, just make bald statements and demand that no-one contrary dare respond. It won't be a forum, of course, just the An Capall Opinion Site. Whether anyone finds my response interesting is subjective, but I mistakenly thought that the issue was open to contrasting opinions. I'll be glad to ignore you in future if you're too lazy to read a viewpoint that doesn't endorse your own.

You can post photos of the "making up" as well, while you're at it. That should get the new members flocking in - Colin Farrell and June Whitfield going at it hammer and tongs! I'm frothing already.

Boinnggg.....

Capal - Horley !

Playtime is now officially over and your lessons await you both. Please make a better effort in future to avoid one another in the playground and concentrate harder when you return to your classes.

I don't need to remind either of you that your next warning will result in you being hauled up before Headmaster Stark, being held in detention and lines will be awarded. Forum Governor Hartigan may take an even more stentorian view.

Youi have been warned......

As my Mother used to say to me and Paul

"I don't care who started it, I'M FINISHING IT!!!!"
My mother was like that with drink...

(Scuffing shoes, sticking out lower lip, snivelling): "He's a nasty, nasty boy, Mummy! He tooked my teddy and pulled his arms off!"

"Never mind, darling, I've got a lovely rice pudding in the oven, and you can have raspberry jam on it, too... "

(Perking up, wiping snot off on sleeve): "Yaaaaay! I love you, Mummy darling!" (Kisses adoring Mummy, scoots off round corner.)

"Oi! Capallbums! Can you stamp on my new doll tomorrow? Reeesult today!"

AC, may I draw your attention to the fabulous news that an entire hour and a half of television time is to be lavished by ITV1 on this august event? I know you won't want to miss it, so be sure to stop all forms of life at 9.00 until 10.30 pm tonight, listen to how Victoreeah planned it, what Gorblimey Ramsay's serving and, whatever you do, do NOT miss the prancing pixie Graham Norton presenting the charidee auction.

At last - Hello! comes to the little screen, and I think we all agree we've had to wait far, far too long for this star-studded feast of cooks, ex-pop stars and ex-DJs (did I mention that Chris Evans will be there, too? Gasp!) to grace our living rooms. I can hardly bear to wait for Jade TV now...
