We're off to the States in July, and will be doing a bit of a tour, so rather than the usual fly-drive option, we're considering using Amtrak to get from Texas to Washington and then onto NY, NY.
Anyone ever used Amtrak before, and are there any hints and tips I need to know about before I book (a roundabout way of asking how I might keep costs down for a family of four)?
