Andalucia

:D Brilliant...

... or, 'Wingin' on the edge of a Nerja takedown'? (As a tribute to Spaneesh feelm-makeeng, of course.)

Don't laugh, but I saw some of one of the Holiday programmes last night (I don't normally watch them as the presenters are very often cringeworthy), and it showed a photography course in Andalucia - and I have to admit the scenery was quite spectacular. The actual photography course looked good too as it was for all sorts of people, some had never used a camera before and any type of camera.

It is somewhere (again, don't laugh) I would love to visit perhaps in our motorhome :o next year. Barney will have his passport by then and I think it would be a real adventure.

Why not, Kathy? The place is bunged up in summer with people motorhoming and caravanning, and with the amount of signposts, atlases, and English-speaking natives, there's probably little chance of ending up in their cooking pot unless you stray far, far, far off the main roads. Won't Tom-Tom guide you through the country, though, or does he only do the Briddish Isles?

I think it will do European too, Krizon. May have to download some maps first though.

By the way, motorhome plus OH and Barney are coming to Brighton on Thursday.... staying near the beach!

Also, coming to Lingers tomorrow. Hope to see you there if you are working! B)

Krizon, apologies for the flying visit today. We got stuck on the M25 for an hour due to the motorway flooding, then got stuck nattering with Martin for a few mins, and our race was due off in 30 mins. He was riding a different horse in our race and he only just made it too.

We had the most fantastic afternoon though, after the crap journey down, it just got better and better resulting in two trips to The Winners Enclosure and a visit to The Directors Box with champagne after the last race. Oh, and we saw the lovely Michelle too. We saw you with your "young man" wheeling the box off (is it full of cash? ) but we were too far away to get your attention.

I just hope you didn't think we were being rude. :shy:

 "My young man" - Tony will split his sides at that one, Kathy! Actually, we had a hilarious start to the day. We haven't had to use the little red trolley for some time, but today we had to take the box of race cards, the laptop, and the box of badges down on it as the cards hadn't been pre-delivered as usual. We got a third of the way to the hut, then realized we hadn't collected our badges, as we'd all been busy joking with the jolly folks in the Cash Office and Accounts. Tony took my big umbrella on with him and trolley, while I went back for the badges. I just emerged again to find the heavens had opened and, of course, he'd gone off with the brolly! I was well soaked by the time I reached the hut, to much hilarity, and it wasn't until the first race had nearly started that we realized we'd left our money float behind as well! Talk about not being able to get the staff...

It was lovely to see you both and what a fabulous day for you all! I thought you'd probably be busy with jollies, so decided that after we'd remembered to return everything (!) I would get a bit of a flyer on the rush hour. I'm so glad that the trip, in all its horror, was still well worth it. Most of our owners suffered the same fate if they used the M25, so there were a lot of well-ground teeth at Lingfield today! See you again soon, I hope. :)
