As has been said at the outset, there's little about the Balkans that is straight forward, but people gravitate easily to lazy headline denounciations based on what a media spoon feeds them. Not sure I've advocated letting him go, the whole thing is just one big tragedy and possibly inevitable once the momentum was started

It is very difficult for an outsider to understand the complex situation that existed at that time.
