Anyone Ever Heard Anything More Ridiculous

Yes I HAVE heard of something more ridiculous.

Following on from the news that the Postal service knowingly employed a dyslexic man as a postman , I read the following day that the BBCs ( shall I call it lavish, they are bound to arent they ?) lavish new production of Robin Hood will NOT contain the character Friar Tuck. Apparently its because he is the butt of jokes. Bless.

What a double load of postal/bbc bollocks.

Do I get a warning for what may appear to be views against dyslexic fat people?!!

I didnt see the opening episode of Robin Hood . If they want to reproduce a legendary tale without a major character, why not just invent a new story and call it something else?

Having said that Maid Marion looked nice on the adverts! :P

I thought it was pretty crap, although it might improve when they don't have to fill a whole backstory of exposition into one episode. It was all horribly conventional compared to Robin Of Sherwood.

Yes, that's what I thought Gareth - hence why I got bored and turned over. I suppose I was expecting something a bit more akin to Robin of Sherwood - bring back Michael Praed is what I say! :D

I'm tempted to splurge on the DVDs; not sure if it would live up to my memories of it though.

The DVD series is excelltn. Jason Connery was good in it too. I loved Richard O' Brien as Gulnar.

I was called out by the alarm company that looks after my company. The Police had been in touch because a vandal had smashed the window. When I got to the store I spoke to the Police and they said that the man smashed the window and then did not attempt to get away. the whole reason he had smashed the window was to get a bed for the night. the bill for the repairs is going to be more than £2k, I am so angry
I thought this was about the price of a latte - daylight robbery

It is expensive to be sure but if people stopped moaning about prices and just stopped buying them by the million we would soon have to drop prices, as it is we have just put our coffee prices up for the first time in 15 months and the majority went up by 1p

Caught 30 minutes of this tonight - thought it was very poor . A gang of prettyboys with stubble, a stock Keith Allen villain and a Much stolen, lock stock and barrel from Sam in the Lord of The rings and no Friar Tuck on grounds that it would be insulting to fat people .

As much as the 1980s production was a bit overly folktale and misty it was a great deal more atmospheric , better scripted and acted than this cleansed Hollywood set like nonsense .

I understand that the tapes were briefly stolen in Hungary - what a shame they were recovered .

Bilge h:)

What possible reason would there be for no Friar Tuck in series one - when all the other classic characters appear ?
