what i don't understand is that they haven't had rain for a while have they?..it should be quicker would have thought..its had days to dry up

Hamm..has it rained in the last week here?

Small shower I think last night but it has been 20-24 degrees every day, 1 other small shower. Ground won't (can't) be faster than today. They must be watering a lot if it's only good as to be honest it's been lovely for a several weeks now.

RP have the first 2 races slightly under standard time, with the 3rd 0.29 over. Haven't watched any of them, so no idea how truly run they were

the times i've used are from past runnings of the same races ..they might all be slowly run today..but then again the ones from the past will have some of that built in. RP standards suggest Good with G2 just beating standard so we aren't far out here

lets see what first couple of races tomorrow tell us

Using the Prix L'Abbaye won't really help too much..its usually faster on that bit of the track...but it can be useful..its also run over 4.9f not 5f

When Danedream won in 2011 in the fastest ever Arc time the abbaye was run in 55.5

When Bago won in 2004..again a fast Arc..the abbaye was won in 55.00.

So using that as some sort of guide if the abbaye is run in that sort of time we know ground is pretty swift on the round course

these would be good ground for the other races

Marcel Boussac 97.5
Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere 79.7
Prix L'Opera 122.6
Arc de triomphe 147.0

oh dear..i'd be learning how to read times if i were you...and relying on the RP standards for one race won't really be a good starting point

The first thing apart from the clock to remember is..Treve wouldn't win a fast ground Arc with her legs

anyway..thanks for all your efforts here EC..much appreciated.

I don't know why its worth bothering tbh..you ain't worth the time..but if you are an absolute slave to the RP standards then we'll look at todays' time..using their standard for 12f..which i would question anyway

The RP standard time is for a 100 RPR horse carrying 9-0..Treve will probably be a 132/133 RPR horse after today..so she should run 30lbs faster than the RP standard to make the ground Good..at 12f i think they use 1.5lbs per length..so at 12f at 5.5 lengths per second = 8lb per second she has run just a bit faster than Good ground because on Good ground she should have run 4 seconds faster than their standard.

do you understand that?

the ground was Good on time..as it was in every race viewed..it even looked like Good ground with a clear print being made...and the Arc winner doesn't act that well on Good to Firm

this is just another example of Reet Hard in his attempts to belittle virtually everything i post on here..even though he's wrong yet again

i'm not being a drama queen either,,but when people question whether this person is purposely posting against me..then this thread and the Robot Boy one highlight just what his game is.

sorry to mention it..i'm not crying..just highlighting this one

on saying that...but i'm sick to f00kin death of the clown..boo hoo:)

Great ride by Dettori there on Olympic Glory but that is how he needs to be ridden not as he was in the JLM .

Also the idea the horse needs soft ground is bilge as his race against Moonlight Cloud last year showed .

Mark johnson talking utter shite on RUK

Frankie didn't really have much choice Ardross. Olympic was flat out early doors on that ground. Gaps opened up luckily. He handles the ground fine. However he'd have won easier on soft.

Maybe but the horse always runs best when held up way off the pace .
